mbike-ski
i've been wanting to get a xc setup for a few years. with wednesdays storm i figure the snow will be around for a while and pulled the trigger on a full setup right after my session at blue that morning. i had been looking on ebay and craigs list for a while for a cheap rossi evo trail type ski - touring/light backcountry dims with no luck until i found some cheap whitewood skis complete - dims are 68-60-65 with NNN binders/boots. they arrived friday, waxed 'em up and set out from home along the rr tracks after my staurday morning blue ski. had to ski my own track in until i got to some foot path traffic that made it easier - alot of work but had a blast sunday was easier with some more skier and snowshoe traffic fun little log roll line charging up the bike light for some night skiing looking forward to hiting some more challenging lines - thinking about taking em up to the blue bunny slope to try some tele turns - might be a a good idea to try it without trees... mbike-ski
set out yesterday afternoon to enjoy the mild weather and soft snow. played around on the memorial sled hill and at burnside plantation, couldn't really tele turn with the lumpy soft snow so step turns worked (kinda)
moe ghoul
I picked up an XC set up for about $220, pretty basic gear and I like the ability to walk out the door and start sliding within a few minutes from the house when its snowing, nite or day time.
