skiersjp Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 It has been nice having the bumps to ski on Exhibition. I wish they would let steeper terain like Floyds bump up as well. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 2 seasons ago they let Floyd's bump up and stay that way for a good portion of the season. Visual evidence below... Quote
phillycore Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 No need to let Floyd's bump up.... just ski the right side of elevator if you want some ungroomed Exhibition makes sense for bumps as it can be done on half the trail. Bumps on Floyd's would turn River shot into a crowded ass bobsled trail. There's really only two main ways down east mtn. using one for bumps makes no sense when it's been so busy there. Early or real late season... sure go ahead let floyd's bump up... Xmas Week through 1st week of March groomed is the way to go IMO FWIW... the last time they let floyd's bump up it was done from opening (early season) Quote
GolfingOwl Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 I have been a big advocate of more bumps at Jack Frost (and other Pocono Mountains for that matter). They make the smaller mountains more interesting. Even posted recently on Alpine Zone that Jack Frost needs more bumps. Then this just gets posted on Jack Frost's website: "We are planning on letting the bumps migrate out of the glades on skiers right of Challenge slope, bump Floyds, bump side of Thunderbolt and some other areas off of Lightning for this weekend." AtomicSkier Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Unfortunately they won't be seeded I've always found JF's bumps terrible. Just random bumps with no rhythm and no consistent size. Quote

Ditto (except for the new set on Exhibition). They usually turn out to be icy patch, snow pile - repeat to the bottom. Personally, I like to ski smooth turns rather than torture myself on bumps. One nice set of moguls is better than occasional spots of bumps to break your rhythm going down a slope. 2 Quote

Bumps in Challenge glade were pretty nice a couple weeks ago when I was there (as were Exhibition as you noted). Good skiers make good bumps and with all this natural snow, they should set up nice for a little while. When they get icy, groom them out. Quote
phillycore Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 cause you don't like bumps?? Not those kinds of bumps.... Out west they can be fun (even if I don't prefer them, they are soft and forgiving) Big piles of hard ass bumps with ice in between them is NOT fun for me... It blows hard because it makes the already small mountain that much smaller for someone like me. Quote

I've been enjoying the bumps at blue as of late, even before it dumped. Quote
