nick malozzi Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Me ripping down below Gowdys... Nice. Quote
phillycore Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Good stuff.... Jeff is too legit to quit. Love that big smile on your face too.. I know that smile gets glued on mine as well when I slay some shit out west. Stoked for you man. Quote
toast21602 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Today was awesome. Doug isn't into hiking or skiing the steeps, so we split up pretty early. Johnny eyeing up his line...Doug staying away from the edge LOL Me ripping down below Gowdys... It was pretty deep... Rinse and repeat for Johnny... should have skied that little chute. and doug, really? Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 should have skied that little chute. Quote
Shadows Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 statement retracted and thrown over to doug. Quote
moe ghoul Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 A few of those pics look like they were shot from a chopper. Where was the photographer standing in relation to Jeff coming down the hill? Quote
vinnyv11 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Those pics are just crazy. They do look like professional shots from some form of setup. Looks like the trip is going great. Quote
Glenn Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 should have skied that little chute. I thought this too, but the reality is it's not clean. It's an air in, a smear turn, another turn and then killing all your speed in the mini-apron to avoid blowing out your knees on the traverse. Without the traverse it's an A+ mini-golf line for anyone with balls. As is, it's a sketchy grade C, because the best would be turns are in the mini-apron. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 That chute isn't Gowdy's...gowdys is just out of view. Gowdys is what Johhny was scoping out, and what we skied to get to that picture. Quote
sibhusky Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 $440 dollars for a 5 day ticket seems like a good deal Yeah, a good deal too much. That's practically my season pass. 1 Quote
nick malozzi Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Yeah, a good deal too much. That's practically my season pass. That's $40 more than my season pass which included 1 free lift ticket to steamboat, wp, and copper to give out to friends. Quote
jordan Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 That's $40 more than my season pass which included 1 free lift ticket to steamboat, wp, and copper to give out to friends. $190 more than my season pass for loveland, 3 days at monarch, 3 days at purg, and a silverton day Quote
Justo8484 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Yeah, a good deal too much. That's practically my season pass. precisely why my in-season trips are usually in utah. cheaper lifts and less crowds. Quote
Kyle Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 To my defense, like I said before, I've never been out west and have no idea what ticket prices are in colorado/Utah/ Montana, therefore I thought that was a good deal considering most places in Vermont are that expensive for 4 or 5 days with less terrain. Just an assumption. Sorry if I made myself look like an idiot haha. Quote
sibhusky Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Well, five days here without a pass would be $250 if you bought at Costco and $290 if you bought at the resort ticket window. Or $255 if you bought a frequent skier pass and then the days. Quote

Sorry if I made myself look like an idiot haha. not at all. just based on my years of skiing and travelling, CO is about the most expensive place I've been for ski trips. the terrain still looks super fun though.
