Is this lookers right of a lift right up the gut of the main bowl?

Posted

No, this is in superbowl, way lookers left of the lift. The one you are referring to is called patrol rock (in Patrol Bowl), but it is long gone this time of year.

Filthy pirate hooker.

That drop looks like stupid amounts of fun.

Actually looks like windpack...I'm curious, did you "stick" the landing? (not sure what you would call it, my daughter used to be in gymnastics...) or did you do a somersault?

yeah its a cornice.

I will admit..i didn't stick it as well as I would have liked...but i didn't somersault either.

I wasn't referring to the departure point, only the landing point. You can have cornices where the landing is fluff because they are on the lee of the ridge.

My comment was directed at toast, not you. I talked about the landing and he was saying it was a windlip (no duh, I knew what the TAKEOFF was), which doesn't translate necessarily into windpack underneath, could be anything.

Snow is currently in transition from a winter to a spring snowpack...which means that big lines will start to come into play soon. Here is a photo of my friend Josh from today in Grizzly Gulch near Loveland Pass.
