Humidity is probably the biggest hurdle for making snow in this area.  Cloud cover is never great, and when its going from 36 to 25 overnight, you have to take into consideration how long it will take to get that low, and how long it will stay in the snowmaking zone.  They might be able to freshen things up a little, which any little bit will help until we get to a nice cold snap which will hopefully happen around Wednesday of next week.

Sure has!  I was going to ski Eldora but it’s 25-30mph winds up there today. Will shoot for tomorrow. I do want to get up to Winter Park. Eldora is just so convenient, get back early and still have most of the day to get stuff done.

How long is the drive for you to Eldora vs Winter Park?

It’s insane up north right now. They are breaking all sorts of records for November snowfall. Sugarbush is already at 60”. Most of the snow that has fallen this season has been the heavy wet base building snow that resorts dream of early this season. It was a little thin in spots on the natural stuff when I left, but I’m sure it looks like mid winter now. They have 18” from this storm already with the upslope machine turning on this morning. Still dumping at elevation. All of Lincoln Peak could be open if they opened the North Lynx side, but it looks like they are delaying that because there isn’t enough snow to groom it out for beginners, and there just isn’t enough staff or demand this early. I’m told that Castlerock is only open to hiking on the Long Trail because lifties are at a premium right now. Let’s hope this keeps up. Could be an epic season.

WF gets hate compared to VT but it's a beast of a mountain. IDK I just like it. If ski tripping on this coast it's one of very few places that I'm actually interested in.

It’s just cause whiteface receives significantly less natural snow than northern Vermont. You should go back I think it’s been about 8 years since you’ve been there.

I am looking for trip ideas this year and considered White Face or Jay Peak. Sounds like Jay Peak would be better. Want to go somewhere different this year and I've already been to Killington and Stowe.

I thought of it maybe I can use my $100 American voucher. Or maybe Ski2Live can hook me up with some Frontier vouchers for discounted in flight airline peanuts and pretzels. Though not sure I want to deal with transporting my ski boots and RTMs through the airline system.
