nws actually dropped where i'm at a little bit between 10 am and 4pm reports. oddly though, the low-chance of high end went up (10% chance of around 14"). map still saying near 8".

unfortunately for you all, i just put tire chains and the blade on the lawnmower. i also put driveway markers in ... so plan on 2".

I tried out a snowplow hack today that my friend told me about. I have a gravel driveway that beats up my ATV plow. Take  a piece of well pipe and split it lengthwise with a table saw, drill two holes in the end and slip it over the blade , wire tied it place. Gave it a test and it worked pretty well.

Touring a couple nice farm fields on Monday hopefully.

Post a pic. I'm trying to visualize it.

I'm thinking U shape under the blade, so the round sits on the ground and bottom of the blade sits in the U. Wire in one hole, up and over the blade, to the other hole, on each end. Allows the blade to glide on the gravel instead of digging it up

This guy used ABS pipe but I used well pipe. A circular saw is a bit sketchy safety wise, table saw’s better. I drlled some holes in either end and used wire to keep it in place because it started sliding off.

Unpopular opinion, I don’t see how we are gonna get 6-10” considering the radar and temperatures..looks like we are about to get dry slotted a little.  I’m thinking we end up with 4-5” that will be decent.  More I’m not expecting.  I’ve followed snowstorms for a long time and this just looks sort of unimpressive but maybe I’m wrong and will crank up.

Yeah looks that way EPWA lowered their “final” call . Only saving grace may be when it resumes the ratio will be higher with the colder air coming in?  I’m thinking more like 4-5”

Dont you have feet on your plow?  i probably have my feet set so my blade is actually about 1" off the floor, if you were to look at it sitting in my shed.  i dont tear my driveway or plow up.  i do also have my plow so the blade itself is kicked forward, and the top back, so it kinda scoops rather than tries to dig in, if that makes sense.  The way i have my feet set, i actually use to to push leaves to the back of the property in the fall, and i dont tear the shit out of my yard doing that.

i was just seeing some stuff on FB (so it must be true) an hour or so ago about some heavy bands coming through, and it is snowing like a MF at my place now.  i think we will do better than 5, but less than 10.  i still do think LH valley and pocs will do the best out of this though.   i should actually go shovel some since i dont wanna do it tomorrow morning.  i could show some pics of my lawn furniture covered in snow if you like.

That dry slot hurt. I can't see any way 10 is in play. Kinda think 5 if we're lucky.

Doing first session at halftime. Looks like maybe only an inch and a half using my banister as a gauge.

Dumping tho right now for sure.

My driveway is 800+ - . I share it with three neighbors. One has a plow but it’s painful listening to him plow his lower section , he keeps an old pickup specially for plowing. It’s barely holding together. The driveway is mostly flat but about 100’ section has been been worn down over the years, ruts because the neighbors can’t figure out if you don’t drive in the same spot they wouldn’t exist.

I’ve had to wait for the first snow to get compacted in order to plow without the feet hanging up, set up about an inch and a half.
The brackets got bent up through time , I’ll find out how this solution works out.
I have a Kawasaki Prairie 360 4x4 , chains on the back.

Just wrapped up round one. Thankful i plowed now because no way the mower was handling more than that.

Ignore my earlier comment. Pretty sure we're already well past five in.

How heavy is it. I’m waiting it out

I wouldn't say it's super heavy (like wet you mean?). Mower just struggles as it piles against the blade, not a lot of weight behind it. Wish it had a little more of an angle.
