Look at all the work PA/Sands has done in Bethlehem to the infrastructure. Huge costs for that work. And word on the street is that the Sands is vastly underperforming.

I really think you make up shit as you go. It's out performing every casino in the state. They do almost twice the volume the next best performing casino does. And because of the super slow roll out of NY casinos, the Sands has another 5+ years of a captive-ish market from NJ/NY, so hopefully the trend of good performance continues.

Hmm. Misinformed I guess. I was going off what I had heard two + years ago before table games were approved and the hotel opened. Glad to see it's doing better. If there was a "I fucked up button," I'd push it.

And sure, even if Sands has a good run for another 5 years before NY cuts into its profits, it's been a huge help to the city. I hope they get all their development done so it can stand on its own without the need to draw in crowds from the casino.

They might be positioning themselves for a casino license in the future? Not a bad location, off the highway, outlet stores......

This might not be a bad idea....Casino with a ski area/waterpark, let the kids ski/waterpark, mom and dad drink weak mixed drinks at the casino....or ski during the day and hit the casinos at night? any other casinos with ski slope?

yeah, it was pretty warm today. any snow left at Blue or BB?

Just shows how much demand there is early season while for spring skiing people won't go for a full mountain.

case of despiration, lol.... going all summer and fall w/o skiing make people stir crazy.

I hear a lot of talk on some weather sites about a banger if a storm Wednesday. Hopefully it stays frozen so places can open next weekend.

It will probably make opening days 10x crazier if people know there is snow on the ground.

I agree I hope it doesn't snow so it's not as crowded.

Although your logic is understandable, the "I hope it doesn't snow" statement seems contradictory to our hopes and dreams.

Models look to be coming into agreement. Hopefully this track continues. Could be upwards of a foot in some places. Hopefully some of you will be able to take advantage of it at Boulder since they may be the only show in PA. The accompanying cold shot starting on Saturday night should also being lots of good snowmaking temps.

Rain stopped up here in the MRV around 12:30. After about a 2 hour lull in weather, it started sleeting at mid mountain and was snow at the top. Temps dropped into the upper teens up top. Things locked up fast. Snow is coming down at a good clip now, but it's accompanied by heavy winds.

RideDE how has sugarbush been?

I haven't really had the chance to get out there to free ride yet. I have mostly ridden during training so it's been limited. We are t2b with 2 routes with 2 more possibly opening as early as tomorrow depending on what they do with snowmaking. I'm hoping to make it out for some fun runs Friday-Sun.

Is organgrinder open? You know a gondola used to go straight up that trail back in the day when Lincoln peak was nicknamed mascara mountain cause that's where the beautiful people skied.

Last year was one of the first years since Win has owned the mountain that they were able to open t2b on opening day. This year they opened t2b with Jester and Organgrinder. We did some training on it today. The rain really softened things up early on. Everything locked up tight starting around 2.

I just heard about the gondola. That's where the mountain ops headquarters is right now. It would be nice to have a t2b lift, but the current setup isn't bad.
