Seriously, WTF is with this Weather?

Ride Delaware ?

Recommended Posts

Supposed to snow 4"-6" tomorrow afternoon through the overnight hours before a changeover to mixed precip and rain Sunday followed by a deep freeze. Team PASR better sharpen their edges for Monday night.

Saturday might be a rare double dip session for me at Blue..haven't done one of those in years. Morning cord and then evening rider of the storm!!!

He can sleep on my loveseat.

FYI last season free passes for season passholders from other mountains began on March 21 at blue.

Good to know...

I'd consider buying a pass to blue but than I be in competition with Doug on the posts about eating another cheeseburger or getting off the couch all the time...

0-16?

I am reviewing the models.  The Okie-dokie model is aggressive with the cold air, and amount of precipitaion, The GSS is being a cunt and bringing some warm air in with it overnight.  It shows mixed precipitation starting just before Karaoke, but most likely ending right before facebook selfies.

yes, 0-16" for all of Carbon County should be a good forecast.

One interesting thing I read is that alot of New England ski resorts have lost business the last month or so due to harsh cold and snow. Non die hards aren't willing to brave the treacherous roads and below zero temperatures and have been staying home. Apparently Wachusett in Mass is down 40% during the last 3 weeks.

Also there was rain on XMAS and rain Sunday if MLK weekend.

I'm not surprised it's down at all. That kind of weather is miserable for most people to be outside in. Weekend warriors don't typically have the kind of gear that would keep them comfortable in sub zero weather.

The question that I'll pose to the PASR crowd is this; will the lack of revenue during peak season cause New England mountains to stay open even longer than usual to try to make some money, or cause them to close on time or early in an effort to cut their losses?

Also I saw a pass for Killington for $199 that will let you ski the remainder of this season, which could easily be late may this year, and would be totally worth it for a few weekend trips.
