I'm not surprised it's down at all. That kind of weather is miserable for most people to be outside in. Weekend warriors don't typically have the kind of gear that would keep them comfortable in sub zero weather.

The question that I'll pose to the PASR crowd is this; will the lack of revenue during peak season cause New England mountains to stay open even longer than usual to try to make some money, or cause them to close on time or early in an effort to cut their losses?

Also I saw a pass for Killington for $199 that will let you ski the remainder of this season, which could easily be late may this year, and would be totally worth it for a few weekend trips.

Tough to say but generally shut down.

Depends though on how many season passes they've sold, weather and about 100 other things.

When the crowds stop coming the mountains close. With small crowds and discounted lift tickets and the majority of the customers, season passholders ski areas don't make the kind of revenue in the spring that they make in mid winter. If early spring is abnormally cold and crowds show up some resorts may be open for a bonus weekend. Killington and Sunday river seem to be the only resorts that try to stay open into May. Most shutdown around early to mid April which really isn't that bad.

Killington has been using these temps to make STUPID amounts of snow on the snoden peak according to my source in ski patrol.

Snowdon ?

Hmmmmm wonder what they got going on. I know they have continued to blow on Superstar as always.....

Yesh. He has no idea why there. But he also said sky peak is getting the same treatment. I think they're going to try to do more teraine than just outer limits for late-season riding thats his opinion as well.

15" over the weekend. Another 8" last night, all in Boulder. More coming this afternoon. Was kind of hoping for a snow day today but that never happens in CO. Canyon rd looks sketchy to get to Eldora, may have to settle for XC skiing in the park.
