Get on some wide skis and go fast and use a lot of power in your turns and you should be just fine getting through the mashed potatoes..in a typical warmer ski season you're gonna encounter spring conditions a lot so might as well work on your mashed potato skiing. Get forward and power through them.

Blue could have made may had they blown through all the frigid nights...

Ray would have!

But is there demand for it. The latest blue ever stayed open when Ray owned the place was April 10th in both 1992-93 and 1993-94 and both times they closed with full coverage.

 

Last year was a great winter and by 4/20 the snow was vaporized.

Yeah but only the weekend not midweek. April 13th was closing I

Missed it cause I was in Colorado.

Last winter it snowed more but the snow melted faster in march and it was not quite as cold last winter but still pretty cold. Not many days of spring conditions last season just like this one.

If this weekend is only Half as crowded as last weekend...they'll be wishing they blew that snow....

I don't understand your logic...I'm guessing crowds this weekend will be like 1/4 of last weekend as most non diehards will be moving onto spring activities.

That's great for us but sucks as far as keeping the mountain open longer....

They'll be open at least till the last weekend of the month probably first weekend in April maybe longer...it's the same every year!!! Great for us and great for the mountain since they made bank this season and last as well.

Glad I got out with the kids yesterday. Conditions at Shawnee were amazing. All the soft lightly groomed spring snow let them rip down all the black diamonds with ease. And there was still enough natural cover for me to ski the trees alongside the trails they skied. Warm weather, no lines. Really a perfect day. Their 16th day on skis and their best yet.

 

Doubt there will be another day that good in eastern PA this season after today.
