Sno Mountain Skier Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Today i went hinking around the slopes to see if there was any coverage and here what we found. Boomer still has a 3 foot base down most of it. And it is covered about 30 feet wide. Lightning only has snow on the bottom. Smoke it still skiable on the headwall. Quote
Ski Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 (edited) You parked in the main lot? Nobody was around or cared you were there? Any other hikers/sightseers? And are there any 'keep the hell out' signs that you noticed? Edited April 25, 2005 by ski999 Quote
Schif Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Very cool to hear, maybe i'll have to make a trip up there sometime. Quote
Wolverine21 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 i ride my quad up there. there are signs at the bottom near the dam that say stay out but no one is ever there to enfoce them. they walked so they didn't park. the lot gate is closed. when i ride up there no one is there and if there is no one cares. even when they had the waterslides open i would drive my quad up the slopes and no one ever tried to stop me, but not like i would notice because i would book it up easy street. Ski Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 So where's the best place to leave a vehicle and walk to the North face slopes? In other words, is there a spot you wouldn't mind leaving Jeff's BMW while we grass ski? Quote
Wolverine21 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 well all the gates are closed so either the top of the road near the gates or on the way up the road there is a gate you can park on the side of there it will be a pretty long walk but it'll be a pretty long walk wherever you go. Quote

Depends which BMW I have. If the M3 senses motion within 10 feet of it, it deploys airbags around the outside of the car to protect it from any possible shopping carts, etc. Quote
Ski Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Thanks, that's what I figured. Just grab one of the spots that the hunters use. Quote

Boomer might be pretty amazing to try, especially since it has a runout. Quote
Ski Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 This would be for a different day, though. It's probably best to just stick with some laps on our hill for starters. Quote

Wolverine21 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 soposevly they are building new things up there so if you goto beginner hills and they see you, you might get in trouble but they never saw me. their have hear me tho, maybe they are getting strict, i would stick to where if anyone was up there they couldn't see you. Sno Mountain Skier Posted April 25, 2005 Author Report Posted April 25, 2005 ya we walked up and took paths through the woods to get on the slopes and we found some nice off trail skiing for next year. There are no signs up top in the parkin lot. When we were walkin near the phoebe we saw some people who were goin back to there cars. but that was it. If you were lookin to steal signs we got most of them and the ones we didnt get were already taken out. Quote
Schif Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 What signs did you get? I was actually thinking about an expedition so I could have some cool decorations for my dorm next year Quote
Wolverine21 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 i wanna take one of thos big ass trail maps or a keep ski tips up sign Quote
Schif Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 The ultimate prize is the White Lightnigng sign, but if you take it they may not replace it and it is a very important part of that place. Quote
skidude Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 I think they would replace it, if you mean the warning sign. No warning=even bigger lawsuit when someone like Jeff falls down it Quote
LineSki Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 well while we are talking about skiing signs me and my friend got a couple at camelback this year. this one is the best though it says something like before you go down stop at cameltop. it is a nice thing he has on his wall now though. Sno Mountain Skier Posted April 26, 2005 Author Report Posted April 26, 2005 Well i was looking to take Boomers sign. But that was gone. So we got a terrain park sign keep ski tips up and no jumping off lift. Quote
skierboi Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 you should take a pic of the snow on the trails Quote
