Snowshe may get the goods

A room would've cost me $194 + tax which included a lift tix and b-fast. That was the deal to stay at the Inn at Snowshoe at the bottom of the hill (6 miles away). More if I stayed at the top. Lift tix is $59/weekday, figure 12$ for b-fast, I prolly saved ~130$/nite once you add in the tax and out of town hoser fees. $390 stays in the Ski Fund. I estimate it costs me less than a gallon of gas/day to run the car for heat. On the flip side, I'll drop $50-$80/day on food/drinks, which I would do anyway if I'd get a room. Snowshoe is pretty isolated and I didn't find many other options besides resort rooms. A few of the mom n pop places at the bottom of the hill were closed. Not sure what they would charge.

impressive adventure and report moe!

I think with the $$ I save, I need to invest in some POV gadget. At least it adds a little more action to a TR. Maybe Santa will surprise me! I'm still noodling with some kind of set up that would let me use the iphone for that.

Pretty expensive room rates for midweek early season. How did the terrain at Snowshoe compare to Blue....Elk? Steel enough to get decent speed in the powder? Oh and the video is sick. I'm impressed that an old gangsta like you has the skillz for that. MSY Mad Steezy Yo.

Thanks, G. Going strong here as I approach the 1/2 century mark next May. The photo album style is a little corny, I think I'll try something else the next time. Definitely steep "enough", and just enough to keep it fun. Western territory are more challenging, longer and a bit steeper. Since I skied so little territory, the best I can say is Blue or Elk can stand up to Snowshoe trailwise.
