DiMe Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) I have to say the first tracks pass perk is the best thing since cold meat between sliced bread for the working man, I hate crowds! Even though Camelback lacks the vert and glades of some surrounding mountains this perk will keep me a pass holder so long as I'm employed M-F. I woke up a little late this morning because of another late night at the casino, pulled into the Sunbowl lot at 8:00 jumped on the lift and walked over to the Sully for 30 min of quiet time on the hill. First run was down Big Pocono which was nice hard pack groomers with a couple little dips that could potentially take you down if not looking closely. Next I hit Rocket which was fairly nicely groomed but also had a few tricky groomer dips. I then hit up Marc, Cleo & Caesar a couple times mixing in Marjies which was definitely ROTD very well groomed and some fun woopdy doos at the bottom. I disregarded birches because I just didn't feel like skating over there and that was the only trail open on the side, it will give me something to check out tomorrow anyways if they don't close due to the rain. I was fiddling with the Phresheeze on the lift for the first 5 or 6 runs and finally got it working, awesome app!! The crowds really weren't that bad but they started coming in around 9:30. I was satisfied with my day already with the lack of terrain and only Sullivan to lap off of so I headed out at 9:40, came home and made a turkey sausage, steeze and egg on rye and took a nap. DiMe Posted December 11, 2010 Author Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) What is the first tracks pass perk? Is that 30 minutes for season passholders only? 7:30-8:30 Sat & Sun for Superpass holders only. The publix has to sit in the snow and watch the select few lap the Sully and or soon Stevenson when it opens. Edited December 11, 2010 by DiMe Quote

AtomicSkier Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 I managed to enjoy this season pass holder perk at CB while skiing early one weekend morning with CB patroller TeleBen. It made me realize that Blue needs to do this ASAP, or even just open at 7:30 again. Having that 1/2 hour of "alone" time was freakin awesome. Quote

DiMe Posted December 11, 2010 Author Report Posted December 11, 2010 I thought you had class on Saturdays. I do, I skipped today since the next 3 classes are just practice exams before the final. I don't need 3 practice exams so long as I study a little each day on the bus. The the 2nd half starts again after the New Year. It will be sad to not have my Saturday morning first tracks This season is a sacrifice for me, following seasons I will have vacation time + other days to take off and plenty of funding to spend that vacation time at mountains outside of the Poconos Quote
DiMe Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 do you get any days off over the christmas holiday? I'm thinking of heading up to Stowe New Years for the James Taylor concert.. Nope just get holiday pay but no class so maybe for the weekend possibly. What days you thinking? Quote
AtomicSkier Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 It's a full hour on both sides of the hill Public opening isn't until 8:30 I was referring to the having the 1/2 hour at Blue...which now opens at 8am, instead of 7:30am of previous years (well, its been a few years of 8am now).
