Johnny Law Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 RFID is good tech, the problem is like almost all things right now nobody thought much about how easy it would be to steal people's info. For ski passes its really no big deal but for credit cards that is info you don't want out there. Good thing there is a real simple solution, wrap some tinfoil around the card three or four times and your good. Quote
toast21602 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 i usually dress in tin foil so i'm set. thank god. Quote
Justin Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 this is no new issue. I remember my citizens debit card used to have that paypass bullshit, then they immediately recalled them after they found out how easy it was to steal info. im pretty sure they have no way of encrypting the info through RFID yet. Johnny Law Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 i usually dress in tin foil so i'm set. thank god. With all the gov't mind control satellites I now wrap everything in tinfoil. My house was kind of spendy and the baby doesn't like it but thank god were all save from gov't mind control plus if global warming ever kicks into high gear we will all be nice and fresh. Quote

Glenn Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 I wrote a paper on this exact issue over 7 years ago. At the time, there weren't people using interference sleeves. RFID security is laughable. With upgraded broadcasting/receiving, with directional antennae and a more powerful signal I'm pretty sure you could do the same swipes from large distances. A creeper would do the trick to hide the equipment. Quote
Schif Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 Great, something to worry about now, my debit card has the visa pay wave in it. Good thing I only hang out around people too stupid to figure out how to make a card reader like that. Quote
