Quote
toast21602 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 ah okay. i met some guy on the lift today that said he was surfing in LBI yesterday and then came up to ski today and that he was heading back down to get out on his board tomorrow. Quote
bluemt1988 Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 should be pretty good tomorrow if the winds stay correct. will be cold and windy. jumping into my thickest wet suit. hope to see some people at blue tomorrow night. not sure how many like the 4-10pm session tho. come up and say hi if you are. Quote
bluemt1988 Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 i'm sure it will. i'll be up and out the door by 4:30 a.m.,home around 2:30-3, and at blue by 4ish. somebody come join me at blue so i don't fall asleep on the lifts. Quote
RootDKJ Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 some areas in Jersey are gonna have 2+ feet/./good luck.. There's at least 4 feet in my back yard. Quote
bluemt1988 Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) I would believe it. Alotta locations in NJ already have 18+. With those bands that went through earlier they were easily 2-3 inches an hour. Wish blue got what central NJ is getting! Edited December 27, 2010 by bluemt1988 Quote
Shadows Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 props for posting as much as doug but with incredibly more relevant/least annoying shit. keeping this board alive. best new member in a while. i dont even ski, i hate snow. i just come on here to keep busy Quote
bluemt1988 Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 haha thanks buddy! I'll try and keep the posts entertaining and useful. Doug seems nice. Every one does. This forum is chill compared to some of the surf forums i've belonged to. So much hate, shit talking, and nailing newbees to the wall. Can't stand it. i welcome anyone who isn't a jackass. Should meet up sometime and charge. on water, snow, whatever. tip some cold ones after. my treat! Quote
Justin Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 if you actually go through with this, you deserve a prize. surfing cold ass NJ then skiing a more than likely cold ass blue at night all while traveling roads throughout possibly one of the biggest hyped snowstorms of the season? jesus Quote
RidgeRacer Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 There's at least 4 feet in my back yard. I swear if this winter is like last winter where jersey and philly get all the snow...I'm moving. Rant over. Back to your regularly scheduled roll call. Quote

Back to your regularly scheduled roll call. 29 inches in Elizabeth, NJ. That's crap. Allentown 3 inches.... Lame. Elizabethtown, NJ that is. Edited December 27, 2010 by Nidecker Quote
Nidecker Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Actually blue is closed till 12:30 because of the wind. They will give an update before 12:30 if they are going to open or stay closed. They said as soon as a report comes in of calmer winds they will open. Sustained winds from 25 to 40 highest gusts to 50. Wfmz says winds won't really let up till 5pm. Quote

toast21602 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Yeah that would be nice to do... good thing I have to work today or I would have gone up Quote
Justin Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 im not surprised. probably wouldn't of even made it up today anyway, it's a total shitshow in philly. people can't drive in this shit even with their huge 4x4 vehicles. it took me an hour to drop my mom off at work 10 minutes away. now I gotta dig the whole fucking house, cars, and driveway out AND the snowblower is broken. never thought I'd say this, but fuck the snow. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Roads were completely empty this morning at 8:45am...my smoothest drive to work ever. Even stopped to take some pictures The garage at work had like 4 cars in it (usually 100% full by 9am). JADIP. Quote
indiggio Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Even last night the wind was out of control. Trying to get from the lift to Challenge/Razors was a pike. Top half of slopes were all windblow crud. However, once you got about halfway down, it wasn't bad, nice stashes of powder here and there and along the sides. Quote
Nidecker Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Going to be even worse today. Quote
bluemt1988 Posted December 28, 2010 Author Report Posted December 28, 2010 It was epic today at blue. I've never been in winds like that. The 6 chair would shut off due to the sensors reading above 45mph sustained winds. Highest recorded wind speed was 62mph I heard. I dropped into razors edge, got hit by a gust of wind and blew me back to almost parallel of the sign that has the double dimond symbol. Quote
bluemt1988 Posted December 28, 2010 Author Report Posted December 28, 2010 I know how you feel. I haven't gotten out that much this season. You were right the winds were straight in your face. Actually fell on Razor's Edge from the gusts. Toward the end it started becoming a cross wind, and that mixed with all the snow blown off the trails wasn't great. I never mind ice but high winds i see are a problem on ice when your straight lining. Washed out and slid a couple hundred feet. I was worried I ripped my brand new pants haha. Quote
