RootDKJ Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 So is tomorrow day or night or thurs best time to go up? I think I'm gonna shoot for a Thursday AM session. Quote

RootDKJ Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGHTHURSDAY MORNING. * PRECIPITATION TYPE: SNOW...WITH ONLY A BRIEF PERIOD OF ANY SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. * ACCUMULATIONS: 6 INCHES OR MORE OF SNOW...WITH POSSIBLY A COATING OF ICE POSSIBLE EMBEDDED IN THE EVENT...DURING THE DAYLIGHT HOURS. * TIMING: SNOW WILL PROBABLY BEGIN BETWEEN 8 AM AND NOON...WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW EXPECTED BETWEEN 5 PM AND MIDNIGHT. * IMPACTS: THE WEDNESDAY EVENING COMMUTE SHOULD BE AFFECTED AS ACCUMULATING SNOW FALLS. THE THURSDAY MORNING COMMUTE COULD ALSO BE AFFECTED BECAUSE OF RESIDUAL CLEANUP OF WEDNESDAYS SNOWFALL.* CONFIDENCE: CONFIDENCE ON SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AT OR ABOVE 6 INCHES IN THE POCONOS AND FAR NORTHWEST NEW JERSEY IS A LITTLE LESS THAN YESTERDAY DUE TO A SOUTHEASTWARD SHIFT IN STORM EVOLUTION. CONFIDENCE FROM ALLENTOWN TO TRENTON FOR A SUBSTANTIAL WINTER EVENT IS ABOVE AVERAGE. Edited January 25, 2011 by RootDKJ Quote
Johnny Law Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Shit, we shoulda reminded you to leave PA 2 days ago. Serious lulz, I'm heading up to maine next week so I'm sure a blizzard will hit pa Quote
JFskiDan Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) this is basically what i was refering to: CONFIDENCE: CONFIDENCE ON SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AT OR ABOVE 6 INCHES IN THE POCONOS AND FAR NORTHWEST NEW JERSEY IS A LITTLE LESS THAN YESTERDAY DUE TO A SOUTHEASTWARD SHIFT IN STORM EVOLUTION. CONFIDENCE FROM ALLENTOWN TO TRENTON FOR A SUBSTANTIAL WINTER EVENT IS ABOVE AVERAGE this thing keeps going back and forth. needs a westerly shift. Edited January 25, 2011 by JFskiDan Quote
bluemt1988 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 i'm hoping for 8". i'd be happy if we could get a solid 8 at blue! Quote
bluemt1988 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 I plan on chilling out and drinking some beer till it starts getting really epic. Always venture out in the heat of any storm! Love it. Quote
moe ghoul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Where's the 1/27/11 Blue rolecall thread? Is it too soon? would that jinx it? It's my wife's bday, I plan to get in an AM sesh. Expression on her face was priceless when I told her. Quote
owenskier Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 already have about 2 inches down here in philly-waiting for it to change to sleet, then rain, then a bunch of snow! Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Nice waking up to a coating of white...it's freakin dumping in the B. Quote
owenskier Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 just went outside 3 inches and from what the weather looks, down in philly we'll miss precipitation in the form of rain- will get some sleet/ice, but then it will stop... Quote
RootDKJ Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I've got about an inch on the ground so far. Dumping still. Quote
AngryHugo Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 just walked the dogs, and we have like 2-3 inches already Quote
moe ghoul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 About 3-4" here, tapering off now, wet n manky Quote
JFskiDan Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 we should all be rooting for a big snow over JF. Quote
Justo8484 Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 it's dumping again in plymouth meeting, about 3" so far. it's pretty moist snow, great for building lips for handrails. Quote
RootDKJ Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Storm totals trending upwards now Quote
Johnny Law Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 3 to 4 already in reading which according to yesterday was all we were getting. This sucker will trend north, I'm hitting Blue around 2/3 when this storm should start cranking. I'd bet Allentown will hit 8". Quote
owenskier Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 still snowing in philly- probably about 4 inches on the ground- exceeding almost anyones expectations/predictions for this morning Quote
