RootDKJ Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Roll cal time. Who's hitting Blue tonight and/or tomorrow? I'm real tempted to make the trek tonight, but I think overall, conditions might be nicer on Thursday morning. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I think ski conditions will be nicer tonight but road condition will be nicer tomorrow AM..anyway I don't know when I'll be up there..maybe this afternoon if I get out of work early..or maybe I'll take tomorrow off... I'm contemplating a PM session to be a rider of the storm Quote
RootDKJ Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 I'm contemplating a PM session to be a rider of the storm Yeah, same here. I'm thinking the window between the 1st and 2nd storms is the perfect opportunity to trek over to Wegmans. Quote
AngryHugo Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I might be rolling up later today. If the roads look decent, it's a go. Quote
mbike-ski Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 (edited) finished the race clinic last night with a few $4 bitburger draft specials. pretty solid brew i thought, much enjoyed erps.... wrong thread prolly be up first thing in the morning for a few pre work runs if i can get ahead today Edited January 26, 2011 by mbike-ski Quote
moe ghoul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Going to try to go in the AM thursday, gonna get up early and check what winds are like, I'd hate to trek up there if the lifts aren't turning. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Roads are *terrible* right now, and that's coming from me. I drove my mom's X3 to wawa this morning, and the ABS was kicking on with the slightest brake application. It has brand new all seasons, I figured the a/s tires were to blame. Got in my car w/ knobby snows...same thing. We need some snow on top of this compacted snow layer to get some traction. Quote
Rodeo Steve Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Ill be up today through the storm and tomorrow most of the day. If you see me feel free to say hi and take some epic powder slashing runs on Switchback with me! Quote
moe ghoul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I'm listening to KYW, and the clusterfuck reports are rolling in. There's a whole stretch of highway in Bucks county near Doylestown that a solid sheet of ice and cars are sliding off it. Quote
n0xidee Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I would love to drive up for an afternoon sesh but the roads at a clusterfck. And also I wouldn't feel like driving a 2.5 hour drive through the snow to come home. Probably going to be up for an am session tomorrow if the winds are fine. Quote
Johnny Law Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I'll be up this afternoon and then Thursday morning, special guest star in the house today. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I'll be up this afternoon and then Thursday morning, special guest star in the house today. seems like it's going to be best to wait until later in the evening...dinner time maybe? Quote
mollyskeez Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 i was there from like 11-5ish. it was dope. ill be there friday. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 i'll either be at Blue, Friday for opening, or 7 Springs. Quote
n0xidee Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 i'll either be at Blue, Friday for opening, or 7 Springs. Why 7 Springs? Thats a nice little hike for a small mountain. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Why 7 Springs? Thats a nice little hike for a small mountain. He'll be in Pittsburgh. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 blue just closed. about 2 more hours of snow. everything will be groomed tomorrow. get in the trees if you can. there is already a hefty base, and this heavy snow will help. hopefully we get another storm next week! Quote
Johnny Law Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) Sweet fucking day, all the lines are in, lift lines are a go. The baby chair line which shall now be called Rat Skank is epic, sweet little hidden drop that takes you by surprise. Tbar line is primo and the top of the quad lift line is real nice. Lots of people all over the place which pissed patrol off, dude got nuclear about us skiing the tbar line. Roads were fine unless you wanted to do 90. We got there at 2 and left at 10 and there was maybe 5 inches on my car, lots more in reading maybe 10 inches since I shoveled this morning. There is a rain crust that will keep you from bottoming out but the regular trees have too much shit in them. One more nice storm and all kinds of things come into play. Have fun tomorrow. Schif Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Jealous of you guys. Only about 2 inches this morning. There was a decent amount of snow down last night on the roads but the A4 handled it like it wasn't there and by morning it really wasn't with the wind taking care of it. Quote
mbike-ski Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 well...? wheres the TR? I bagged it this morning for some work and house stuff. figured the snow would be somewhat heavy and with 3 good powder days so far this year, now i'm a snow snob... i'm thinking the bumps should be awesome this afternoon so headed up after work Quote
