moe ghoul
Last week started off with high expectations and stoke boners for a footie or more of fresh in NE, but Ullr initially made it feel like a real April Fool's joke. I drove up with boarder/biker from TGR on Thursday and we decided to crash at a friend's house in Albany for the nite as the radar kept drifting further east offshore dragging snow totals lower. It made more sense to get up early and see who mighta got the better of the storm: MRG or maybe Slokemo. Woke up Friday to some disappointing news all around, so we headed for MRG. Got there around 8:30AM to about an inch in the lot. Made one run down as the snow fall gained speed and decided to party in the lot until it accumulated. By 12 there was a good 3"+ down and it kept getting better into the closing bell. Pockets of untouched pow in the 6-8" range were found, especially in the trees and a few runs on Paradise. Headed to Magic and overnited there waking up to about 4-6" of settled fresh cream cheese with a drier pow on top Saturday AM. Grippy runouts after noon was the only complaint for the day. moe ghoul
wow nice moe....my rents had property near magic but never got the ski there. anything else planned for the rest of the season? I mighta seen the last of lift served runs for the season. Touring Mt. Washington area is a possibility later this month. I'm considering buying my sister-in-law's mother's property in Sugar hill, NH, and want to take another walk through the house. She's in her 80's, so all I'm doing is getting first dibs on it. She's still in good health, god bless her, so it's an opportunity that could present itself today or in 20 years. I already discussed it with my sis in law, and they love the idea of keeping the house in the family.
