Freeski919 Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 So you put groomer units on either side, but there's still only one plow blade on the front? Any real groomer will tell you that if you don't have snow on the blade, you're not grooming. And if you put a 3x wider blade on the front of the cat, how unwieldy is that going to be to use, and how much more horsepower is it going to take to move that monstrosity? Sounds great in theory, but I don't see how it could work on the current chassis size of any snowcat. And a bigger chassis means reworking the logistics of a whole lot of groomer barns, maintenance facilities, etc. Quote
sibhusky Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Yeah, how many runs will that even FIT on? I was wondering about here and none of the steep runs and maybe only three areas would have the right topography for the thing. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Sure, it'll cover 200% more area, but it'll also consume 200% more fuel to power the PTO's required to drive the additional tillers. Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 I don't see them selling many of those... Most big resorts have very few trails that wide and their groomers are coordinated enough to knock it out quickly... Maybe they are marketing them towards resorts that want to groom their bowls? Lol Quote
Timeless Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Camelback will buy one so that they can groom the sunbowl in one hit, then claim their "green-ness" and get extra tax breaks for their new developments..... Quote

Extra developments? Does this have something to do with the 3 million reasons to go to Camelbeach this year? Or are we talking about the hotel/condo/indoor waterpark that will never be built? Quote

Ride Delaware ? Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 It Seems to be working at Greek Peak... Could this work at Camelback? Seems like a stretch to me, but if you want to waste money on something, why not a hotel? Quote
