PASKIINGSUCKS Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 I was wondering this last night as I stood outside after the flyers game. Dead silent, so I figured they were just gonna blow later. Although it was 30 or so after the game so I was wondering what they were waiting for. Maybe they just ran a test sometime during the night?? Â I wouldn't doubt they give it one more day, today looks like the warmest temps in the near future with the big freeze coming this weekend. So hopefully they do it to it tonight. Quote
DinosaursInOuterspace Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Well at least Boulder is on their game and is going to be open. Quote
PASKIINGSUCKS Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Well at least Boulder is on their game and is going to be open. Â Good luck fighting the crowd. Quote
burton71 Posted December 9, 2011 Author Report Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) Bear didnt blow at all last night. and i have no idea why? Water temp was probably too high. Edited December 9, 2011 by burton71 Quote
DinosaursInOuterspace Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Good luck fighting the crowd. Â Anywhere you go early season like this will be crowded. Killington was crowded last weekend, and will be crowded this weekend. Boulder will be too, and Bear would be if it was open. Maybe not ideal, but better than waiting around and not riding. Quote
Kyle Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 They better step it up. Was way cold enough to blow last night. Â for once i will agree with you, partially. it was cold enough but the water temp may have been to high. Quote
Winter Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Water temp too high is a fancy excuse. The first day of snow making is usually done with a heavy mixture of water in order to put a more solid base down (closer to ice) and then they lean out the mixture to make better snow on top. Higher water temp might be bad for good snow, but it would have been just fine for the base layer. Anyway, Elk's scheduled to open Wednesday. Quote
Winter Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Are they blowing? Tonight is supposed to get down to 20 degrees in the A.....brrrrrrr If they don't, they must have not paid their electric bill. That or they own the best weather station on earth and can see 70's in 2 weeks. Quote
Kyle Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Temperatures near 60 by weeks end..it's go time tonight. Guns should be lit up everywhere in the next few hours. Â need more posts like this from you. Quote
burton71 Posted December 12, 2011 Author Report Posted December 12, 2011 Looks like they laid down a nice amount of snow. Perhaps late week opening? Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 Looks like they laid down a nice amount of snow. Perhaps late week opening? They usually don't drag their feet... If there's enough snow, they will open something... Quote
toast21602 Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 They usually don't drag their feet... If there's enough snow, they will open something... Â probably. especially with a ton of others opening. Quote
mollyskeeze Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 i hope they open by Friday. i cant do boulder again. Quote
Saurus Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 If they open friday I would be stoked. I get home from school thursday and would love to be at bear my first day back. Quote
mollyskeeze Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 lets hope once they open the weather will stay cold so we can get a legit park up before February! Quote
burton71 Posted December 13, 2011 Author Report Posted December 13, 2011 Warm and rain on Thursday will probably put the opening off till at least the weekend if not next week. Quote
Mixilplix Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 I'm crossin my fingers for this weekend.....If not I'll think about going to JF Quote
1337snowboarding Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Its not looking good for this weekend, hopefully Monday. Quote
Kyle Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Can't tell from the webcams how much snow they actually laid down, might stop by there later today after my final to check things out. I don't think we should completlety count the weekend out but with the rain coming in tomorrow they're defintely going to lose some snow. It'd be nice if they opened Saturday but I would still be fine with a Sunday or Monday opening. 1 Quote
Saurus Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 the only rain i like is frozen and or chocolate. Quote
HouseMuzik Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 It's ridiculous they're blowing over the entire mountain. This BS excuse about "high humidity" is ridiculous. At 27 degrees humidity is irrelevant (and for three days at BC the temp fell below that). Whats happening is a simple law of physics. You have all the guns on, the pressure through those guns is going to be less than just a few blowing. Pressure is finite. Now the forecast is not looking good for the weekend with marginal temps. Good luck BC, you need it.. 1 Quote
