burton71 Posted February 23, 2012 Author Report Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) They have enough snow to get through the next couple of days. They might have to groom out some jumps but that will get them through the weekend, at least on the park runs. Doesn't look to bad weather wise after Friday, definitely some chances to blow more snow but at this point who knows if they will or not. Edited February 23, 2012 by burton71 Quote
Mixilplix Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 12 more days and they meet the 65 day season pass guarantee...... Quote
PASKIINGSUCKS Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 They got at least twelve more days in em. Only major dirt spot I saw was in baby park yesterday. It'll be warm the next couple days but they've got plenty to push around. They're open into march for sure. Not too much I hope, I got plans to kayak the 16th. We'll see how it pans out for the slopestyle on Sunday?? Quote
mollyskeeze Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 theyll prolly close right after the guarantee. its usually packed presidents day weekend and it was less crowded than a typical weekend last season. Quote
burton71 Posted February 23, 2012 Author Report Posted February 23, 2012 Conditions were awesome this morning. Definitely a few thin spots coming down into BB but other then that it wasn't bad. Snow got really sloppy around 1pm so I took off. Quote
DinosaursInOuterspace Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 What's the deal with this slopestyle tomorrow? Will you still be able to ride Cascade then cut into that bottom rail section? Quote
skeer_tomas Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 What's the deal with this slopestyle tomorrow? Will you still be able to ride Cascade then cut into that bottom rail section? Yup, always. Quote
toast21602 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 What's the deal with this slopestyle tomorrow? Will you still be able to ride Cascade then cut into that bottom rail section? kevin is going to win. Quote
mollyskeeze Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 its 60 degrees all week then when they can finally blow there's a comp ... figures! Quote
burton71 Posted February 26, 2012 Author Report Posted February 26, 2012 Fun session this morning. Nice to see them still blowing, they definitely recovered a bit of snow from mid week. Quote
Mixilplix Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 I was glad to see them put some man made down too........I felt the conditions were hit or miss this morning....pretty sticky where the fresh blown was put down.....Happy to still be riding though......Crowds are really down, early am was empty. burton71 Posted February 27, 2012 Author Report Posted February 27, 2012 Looks like they blew again last night. I guess they are pretty serious about trying to make it to at least the 17th. Quote
guitar73 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Looks like they blew again last night. I guess they are pretty serious about trying to make it to at least the 17th. i sure hope so. doesn't look like we'll be able to make it to bc this week. prayin' the stay open till at least next week...need one more day to break even on the season passes. Quote
Kyle Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 I'm hearing that they are giving a partial refund valid towards next season. Guitar you should try to make gaper day at Blue most likely on 3/25. yeah and i heard you finally have a girlfriend. we both know neither of those things are true. 2 Quote
mollyskeeze Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 they give a discount if they dont make the 65 day garantee. which theyll make on like march 4th or something. Quote
guitar73 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Guitar you should try to make gaper day at Blue most likely on 3/25. lol. i'll be on the look-out for that and see what i can do. don't know if i'll be able to top johnnystyle's get-up from last year though.....that was money! Quote
Kyle Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 That was from three years ago. I don't dress up for gaper day I just drink and smoke and eat all day. Quote
1337snowboarding Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 I dont see how they will make it to the 17th. the snow up top is very thin and with all the rain coming its not looking good. Quote
Kyle Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Unless it gets cold enough for them to lay some serious snow down they're not making it to the 17th, tonight was real fun though. It was heavy hardpack slush but perfect snow to try new stuff on in the park. Hopefully we keep the slopestyle setup in black bear because that's a really good rail line. Quote
mollyskeeze Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 park was dope today. lips were untouched and icy in the morning but once it warmed up the ruts kinda worked themselves out. Quote
burton71 Posted March 1, 2012 Author Report Posted March 1, 2012 Spring fling has been moved to the 10th and 11th. Guess next weekend is it for them. Quote
Johnny Law Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 Spring fling has been moved to the 10th and 11th. Guess next weekend is it for them. Sad, I don't ride there anymore but they try so hard...mother nature just loves fucking them in the ass. Quote
PASKIINGSUCKS Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 Spring fling has been moved to the 10th and 11th. Guess next weekend is it for them. I have heard that while the fling has been moved back that they are not officially calling it closing day. If they are really ambitious they could possibly blow early next week. We'll see I guess. They might have to blow after this weekend anyway just to make it to the fling date. Quote
burton71 Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 They will have weather to blow snow starting Sat night, not sure if they will or not. Oh well they did a damn good job with the shit weather this season. Quote
JibHonk Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 We blew a fair amount of snow last night, I'd like to shed some light on why the park is how it is right now as of 9:50 am... It's bad. We are not lazy; we are not slacking or smoking in our hut as many assume. The problem today lies in the fact that the lips froze solid with ruts last night, until the sun "thaws" them out they are next to impossible to work with, Our efforts were futile this morning. We tried our best to give you the best that was possible so please take this into consideration before flaming today. Quote
