Carbon County Coroner Bruce A. Nalesnik identified the victim as Victor Bortz, an employee of Livengood Excavating & Paving, Walnutport. Nalesnik said no one witnessed the accident, but Bortz was apparently ejected when he lost control of the over-sized dump truck. The cab of the truck remained upright and the dump body over-turned onto its side under a chair lift near the Lazy Mile, a ski run for beginners.
Topics
Accidental Death
Slatington
Funeral Parlor and Crematorium
See more topics Quote

trackbiker Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Of course this is terrible news. Condolences to family and friends. Not to take away from the the tragedyy, but once again, a so called "reporter" makes a report that makes no sense. If the cab remained upright how was the operator thrown from the cab???? Did she think maybe that the cab did roll and then landed upright? No matter what happened, that reporter is clueless about what did happen and misinformed the public. "It's not about being right. It's about being first." No wonder the U.S. public is so misinformed about everything. Do they even teach critical thinking anymore? I would have thought they would in jounalism school at least. Question everything. Quote
Shadows Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 ^could be way wrong here but that kind of dump has an articulating type cab no? either way dude probably wasnt wearing his seat belt. theres ROPS and one other kind of roll protection. most cabs on cats have to be able to hold up to the entire weight of the machine so dude just didnt hang on strong enough i suppose.
