rummy Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) there's only two missing from my "bucket list" #10 and #15, and we are planning on scratching them off the list this year 29th annual stag trip coming up. BTW our top three are Whistler, Sun Valley, and Arapahoe Basin (not even listed) Edited October 17, 2011 by rummy Quote
AtomicSkier Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 My favorite 4 are on that list. Almost time to visit again Quote
Timeless Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 (edited) list is BS, how can you have Heavenly on the list and not Squaw? Also hope it's not in descending order, Queer Valley 20 places over Snowbird, yeah right..... Edited October 18, 2011 by Timeless Quote
Shadows Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 so this list is just a "who needs the most tourist money comparatively to last year?" 1 Quote
phillycore Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 I've been to 7 of the 20.....but the list is BULLSHIT Quote
AngryHugo Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Here's the East: 1. Tremblant, Quebec 2. Stowe, VT 3. Smuggler's Notch, VT 4. Okemo, VT 5. Whiteface, NY 6. Stratton, VT 7. Killington, VT 8. Sunday River, ME 9. Sugarbush, VT 10. Bretton Woods, NH Quote
Timeless Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Both lists are obviously supposed to reflect the needs of the magazines target audience, how nice are the restaurants, bathrooms and valets factoring as much as the terrain and conditions. If you fit the demographic you would probably agree with the list, if all you care about is skiing/riding, it makes no sense. Pointless exercise in my humble opinion. Quote

guitar73 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 If you fit the demographic you would probably agree with the list... something tells me that peeps on this site (and others) don't quite fit that demographic Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Okemo #4? Wow... Even if it is BS lol Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 I do like Ludlow. I've got to give them some credit there. Definitely a family friendly town for a family friendly resort. But #4? lol for rankings... Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 I don't even know what my top 5 in the East would be since my East experience is pretty limited. I have a bunch of places on my hit list I haven't made it to yet that probably should be on it. So I wouldn't even attempt to make a list. Quote
Timeless Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 wtf, where's Blue??? it's on the top 5 worst grooming list, right at the top...... 1 Quote
toast21602 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 it's on the top 5 worst grooming list, right at the top...... camelback takes it for the 2010-2011 season. i was up there with Root one day and scared as hell of half the stuff they 'groomed'.... and that's with years of training on Blue's crap. Quote
RootDKJ Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 camelback takes it for the 2010-2011 season. i was up there with Root one day and scared as hell of half the stuff they 'groomed'.... and that's with years of training on Blue's crap. From about 10am to 10:30 it was great. By 11 it was sticky. But they were open, and Blue wasn't. Gotta love the Camelback locals though, lol. Quote
Johnny Law Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Top 5 east 1. Mt Washinton and friends 2. Daks 3. Stowe 4. Loaf 5. Jay OM: Smuggs & Wildcat & the Mighty Pats Peak End of story...I would have put Chic Chocs in but that god damn caribou migration shit fucks everything up. Quote
Shadows Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 .... and that's with years of training on Blue's crap. thats laughable. Quote
Ullr Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Here's the East: 1. Tremblant, Quebec 2. Stowe, VT 3. Smuggler's Notch, VT 4. Okemo, VT 5. Whiteface, NY 6. Stratton, VT 7. Killington, VT 8. Sunday River, ME 9. Sugarbush, VT 10. Bretton Woods, NH Gotta give the list a thumbs-down. I get the whole family-friendly thing, but no Sugarloaf, Jay or MRG? Never been to Bretton Woods, but I can't believe it is better than the three I listed. Stratton???? Thanks a joke! No way it should be in the top 20, let alone 10. Quote
