Another nice day today. This time at Snowbasin. We started the day off the needles gondola with a fast run from the top down to the strawberry gondola with the other PASRs. We lost those guys so we messed around in the bowls back there for a bit. The snow was a lot different today than yesterday. It was windblown chalk, tough to describe but definitely glad I was on the thinner skis today. We then made our way to the John Paul quad to the Allen Peak tram for a run down mens start, to some steep groomers (grizzly etc.)

JFdan switched skis and we went back to the strawberry area in hopes that the snow softened. It did up top but was still kinda stiff down below. We went back over to Allen peak (Mens start) and messed around up there for a while till close. Another open to close session today. Snowbasin is a kick ass mountain with lots of bowls and open faces. One of the resort guides told us that its a combination of Vails back bowls (strawberry section) deer valleys groomers (the middle section) and snowbirds steep terrain (Allen Peak). Whatever its a kick ass place that would be even more so on a powder day. The bathrooms, by the way - baller.

Pics to follow from jfDan.

Just back from our 4th and final ski day in the beehive state. This time at Alta which is sick to say the least. The snow was polar opposite from yesterday at basin. Alta holds powder. That plus the few inches that fell on us in the morning made for great conditions.

We started the day off riding the Collins lift to the top. We got our legs warmed up on Mambo down to Collins face back to Collins lift to the base. Back up the Collins to the ballroom area then back down. From the we took the rope tow to the other side. Jumped on the Sunnyside lift to sugar loaf to the top. Great views of snowbird and mineral basin could be had from here.

We decided to bear right down sugar bowl through some steeps, trees, gullys you name it to the supreme lift at 10,500 feet. The Catherines area was open but we didn't feel like hiking so we went right down challenger and some steep tree runs. We beared as far left as we could to get back to the sugarloaf. We took that back to the top of collins back to ballroom to the base. Phillycore and I decided to hit the high rustler area while Dan (who was demoing) changed skis. High rustler is absolute money. Steeps, powder, trees, gullys etc. The three of us took another run on high rustler and beared right to some hidden cliff area that was filled with sweet Utah powder. So much fun in there.

Dan, core and myself messed around a little more in the Rustler area, then headed over to the wildcat chair for more bowls and steep chutes. We almost ended up at snowbird at one point until beared right at the last minute to get back to Collins lift. We headed back over to the rustler area and traversed even further out this time and skied some of the steeps there. At 4pm we hit collins one more time and blasted down the groomers for a quick 2k vert. Another open to close day at what may be one of the greatest places in the world.
