Weekend at Elk

Hey All,

 

Myself and a few friends (3-5 people) are looking to spend the night up by the mountain. Any inside deals on places to stay close by? What type of ski and stay packages are in the area (if any)? Should we purchase the 2 day lift ticket from Elk? I've researched a bit, and found a few places that seem good, but figured I'd throw it out there in case someone knows a good spot. Basically looking for the most economic way to ski both weekend days and spend Sat night somewhere.

 

Any thoughts/ideas welcome

There really aren't many great places to stay close by... Look at some of my trip reports for last spring... I stayed in a Days Inn in Wilkes Barre, and on a weekend the room was like $60 with AAA... It was about a 25 minute drive and was located in an area where there were some restaurants and bars... If your looking to save money, it wasn't bad...

Booked a weekend at Chet's Place for the last weekend in Feb. Read good things and chatted with them on the phone for a while. Good people. Seems like a fun joint and close to the hill! Not too expensive either.

Can't beat Chet's for a good time..It should be rocking that weekend, prime time ski season. If you get there early enough on Fri night, have the Steak Special--good steak cheap.
