Timeless Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Just got back from a great weekend in Tahoe, both days at Alpine, finally some decent base on the ground and some fresh snow under the board. It's been a long time coming but hopefully we will have a long spring season now. Sorry no pic's, my bad for not taking the camera. Quote

Timeless Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 unbelievable they could go from open to that in a week, or that it can look like that in March. The grooming on the trail in the middle looks better than the last time I was at blue..... 3 Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 picture of Blue Mountain from today. It normally looks like this in May... Over the past couple of seasons, closing day would have been this past weekend right? Now the mountain bike trails at Blue are ready. Are they starting that back up again this year? Quote
Shadows Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 they should have hill climbs on challenge. blue would be such a good hick playground. the location is perfect. i already told you were the drag strip could go. now they got a hill climb, and im sure we could fit a shooting range in somewhere. could have burnout contests and 2 dollar pitchers of Olympia (because, its the water c'mon) on weekend race days. the disc golf course could double as skeet shooting Quote
sibhusky Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Spring conditions, changing over now from the glue to corn. Can get down the hill for a change. Quote
Timeless Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I don't think challenge is steel enough for a hill climb. About 25 degrees pitch at most. You need a mountain like Snow King WY with some steepness. how can it not be steep enough, it's a double black diamond ... Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 You Southerners... With your bare mountains, green grass, and golf... Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Heading up to the top of Snowmass. 2 Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Meh should have just hiked to hanging valley from top of Alpine =)... We actually didn't take High Alpine at all yesterday. 2 or 3 person wait for the poma so why not? Ajax today. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Two pics for today...one from the top of Ajax looking at Highlands, and the second is for NSJay...pesto chicken wrap from the big wrap with his favorite gear shop in the background. Conditions today were awesome spring corn. So smooth, fast, and grippy. 1 Quote
sibhusky Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 No blue skies here. Snowed all day. Tomorrow should finally mean off piste is good to go again. 1 Quote
sibhusky Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) This was from last Tuesday. I saw the hexacopter from the chair. You can see my chair mate wave at it at some point. Edited March 30, 2012 by sibhusky 1 Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 We decided to check out Buttermilk today. Glad we did. We had a great time on super smooth corn. Spring skiing at its best...and our own private mountain. Views from the top are awesome. Quote
