saltyant Posted January 8, 2019 Report Posted January 8, 2019 That's exactly how I felt when I fell down Marjie's Delight after hitting some ice. Quote

Not that time but made me realize how difficult it is to stop on black diamonds. Eaf's video reminds me of the old video of the guy skiing down Everest with a parachute and nearly falling to his death. Edited January 8, 2019 by saltyant Quote
Barb Posted January 8, 2019 Report Posted January 8, 2019 There was a large avalanche in the San Juan’s over the weekend that caught 6 people while taking a backcountry ski class. One died. Scary shit. Quote
eaf Posted January 8, 2019 Report Posted January 8, 2019 I'm just hoping that with all the below freezing temperatures this week Blue will have as much snow by Sunday morning. Quote

Popular Post Barb Posted January 13, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted January 13, 2019 Skijoring is pretty fun! Traffic was awful since it was a powder day. Took us 3 hours to get to Frisco when it should have taken less than 2. My friend and I planned to get up there early before the class and snowshoe. There wasn’t time for anything long so we just went to a trail at the edge of town so I could walk the dog a little. There were several large female moose hanging around the parking lot so I had to keep him on his leash. There were 5 of us in the class and the first half of class all the dogs wanted to play and everyone was getting wrapped up in leashes and falling down, including myself. By the end, the dogs started to get the hang of it. But when we were standing around I quickly learned I had to be in a dug in snow plow because at any given moment my dog could want to run after something. The equipment is less than $100 so I am going to buy a setup and take him to local places. There were times he was running so fast I couldn’t ski I just tried to stay upright and he was doing all the work. Group shot the instructor took. I have never seen my dog more tired. He totally crashed in the car as soon as I loaded him. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 10 1 Quote
Kyle Posted January 15, 2019 Report Posted January 15, 2019 New tires for the truck got delivered today, fedex was nice enough to leave them stacked like this on the corner of my house that faces the road after I put in the delivery instructions to leave on the front porch (not visible from the road). Thankfully my neighbor was nice enough to see this and put them in my garage for me. 1 Quote
