Drove about an hour north to Garland Mountain Sporting Clays to skeet shoot. I used to target practice quite a bit, but that was one of the things I gave up after kids, and never really got back into. Shot some clay pigeons yesterday, and it was fun. Of course, hubby came in first out of our group of 6. There’s a place right outside Egypt Pa to do this. May have to take a trip up there

Lehigh Valley Clays.  Pretty cool place built around an old quarry.  Lots of fun.

Went out for a tour today at Moffatt Tunnel. Had to carry our skis for about 1/2 mile before there was enough snow to put them on. At first it wasn’t so bad, but then it was just an asteroid field of rocks to dodge. We went about 1.7 miles in and it was not improving at all so we turned around.

skied down part of the way w skins on to protect bases but it was no good. After 1/2 mile took off skis and put them back on our packs. Still counting it as my first day.

ok so i'm not sure whether this should be in the pics from today thread or the beer thread. the pics aren't from today and its not beer.

i've always stuck to orthodoxy with things like this. but... after my cousin posted something that sounded very tasty on fb, i decided it was time to try something new.

this is far different than traditional in the sense that there aren't really any spices. what i normally make calls for allspice, caraway seeds and cloves. normally there is also a lot less fruit in the mix as well.

i tried some early yesterday morning (it had to cool down overnight) and it is no joke. this is definitely a sipping drink - at least the first couple of glasses.

anyway, it's called pineapple upside down boilo and is supposedly an award winning skook recipe.

the ingredient photo is missing pineapple orange juice and half of the motts for tots.

i have all of the ingredients for the one i regularly make, will prob do that in a couple weeks.
