enjoralas Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 Tired and cranky i guess. First time lesson/lift/rental is just expensive. Especially if they arent good enough to even get on a lift. Skiing is for rich people after all. Sundays in January are the best time to take a never ever. $50 for the lesson, beginner lift and rental. In my first timer group from 3 years ago only about 1/2 of us were ready to try the school triple chair by the end of the lesson. The three lesson pack they had on sale pre-season for $179 was a great deal too. Quote
Shadows Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 Good to know. thats better. I never really thought about first timers. Ski boots and skis are absurd. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 My first time skiing at blue I only got a vista lift ticket..skied vista and easy out like three times after some school hill runs. Shadows only 15% of people who try skiing become lifelong participants. It's not for everybody luckily I'm an agile mofo. And I would say that most people who ski at blue are not rich. Quote
momskeeztoo Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 Don't they have some kind of deal 3 lessons, rentals and beginner lesson that's pretty reasonable? Doh. Just read Enjoralas post. 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 Last night there were plenty of people who could barely navigate the liftline on skis was wondering how their runs would be. 2 Quote

Barb Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 Quick hike up Sanitas. 3 days ago I was snowshoeing in 6 degree temps. Today was almost 40 and just had one layer on. Overcast days are the best for hiking! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5 Quote
Barb Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) Bunch of ROTC people were on the trail from all over doing a fun run. Was pretty cool to see. Probably saw at least 50 of them in smaller groups. Wearing full camo and carrying what looked like unnecessarily heavy packs.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 4, 2017 by Barb 2 Quote

Barb Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 They had ROTC shirts on and they said it was an ROTC fun run, so yeah pretty sure. Naropa is the only hippie liberal arts college in town. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 I was in Boulder two years ago for a night and there are still lots of white people with dreadlocks and street performers. I ain't trippin I once heard the 37 minute version of knocking on heavens door. Shit was bananas Quote

Barb Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) 15 degrees and windy. All groomed , wind blew away anything fresh. Yesterday was a spicy drive up. Whiteout from Monarch Pass to Gunnison. Lots of cars in ditches on 285. White knuckle for sure. Some of the snow melted in town but not much. Still 6-8' piles on the sides of streets and walkways to homes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 7, 2017 by Barb 5 Quote
