Tired and cranky i guess.

First time lesson/lift/rental is just expensive. Especially if they arent good enough to even get on a lift.

Skiing is for rich people after all.

Sundays in January are the best time to take a never ever. $50 for the lesson, beginner lift and rental. In my first timer group from 3 years ago only about 1/2 of us were ready to try the school triple chair by the end of the lesson.

The three lesson pack they had on sale pre-season for $179 was a great deal too.

My first time skiing at blue I only got a vista lift ticket..skied vista and easy out like three times after some school hill runs.

Shadows only 15% of people who try skiing become lifelong participants. It's not for everybody luckily I'm an agile mofo.

And I would say that most people who ski at blue are not rich.

Quick hike up Sanitas. 3 days ago I was snowshoeing in 6 degree temps. Today was almost 40 and just had one layer on. Overcast days are the best for hiking!

Bunch of ROTC people were on the trail from all over doing a fun run. Was pretty cool to see. Probably saw at least 50 of them in smaller groups. Wearing full camo and carrying what looked like unnecessarily heavy packs.

Great photos Barb!!! We've had Colorado weather here. From upper 70s to teens and possibly below that tomorrow morning.

They had ROTC shirts on and they said it was an ROTC fun run, so yeah pretty sure.  Naropa is the only hippie liberal arts college in town.

15 degrees and windy. All groomed , wind blew away anything fresh. Yesterday was a spicy drive up. Whiteout from Monarch Pass to Gunnison. Lots of cars in ditches on 285. White knuckle for sure.

Some of the snow melted in town but not much. Still 6-8' piles on the sides of streets and walkways to homes.
