Thx, guys.  RT is deserving of it's own section.  You will see some good race topics here...

I got involved with the ISSA last year - I'l let them know they have a central mountains place to post on now - they do the racing circuit similar to ASRA except in the central area.

I apologize all... We actually added this forum a little while back, but I set the permissions incorrectly so nobody could actually see it. Thanks for the feedback and letting me know!

You know I bet I know why we got so many roundtop people here. When PASR first came out with stickers, I gave my cousin three one for her and two for her friends. When she came to ski the Pocono's I noticed she put hers on her board and I'm sure her friends did too. So I guess they saw the stickers and joined or were skiing in the Pocono's and saw other members stickers.

They are coming from Newschoolers. Roundtop has a very active cult there. Bear Creek was active but now it is quiet. There are several east coast cults and a pennsylvania one too!!

newschoolers has changed a lot in the last year (not for the good) lots of trash talk -- I think that we can offer our local freestylers a lot more substance than they get over there. Keep encouraging them!

I think that most of the kids on NS find enjoyment in all of the trash talk. It is a lot more laid back and they like that.

Newschoolers is and will always be the major forum for us Roundtop folk. However, i think it's important that we frequent this board as well so that we can find out more about other resorts around PA as well as expose some of you Pocono skiers to the freeride scene which is BLOWING up at Roundtop.

There are over 90 members in our 'cult' on Newschoolers...about 50 of which I know ride primarily at Roundtop. I hadn't heard a thing about this website until papasteeze spread the word around Newschoolers. A few of us have joined since then.

This board started out as a "free speech" outgrowth of the Camelback board, mostly the "troublemakers" from that board. But, it's grown to 274 members since then, winning most of the grownups from that board, and added in all of these people from other ski areas. Stats are on the main page at the bottom.

:lol I am getting use to 50% garbage that is over there and am making new contacts quickly... newschoolers are a definitly the "darkside" of skiers. Funny that I should ride on a set of "darksides" ....

I just want to add my thanks for expanding the PA ski hill coverage. Because I moved over the summer, I'll more likely be splitting my ski days between RT, Liberty and Whitetail, with a trip or two to Blue Knob. I've been a follower of PSAR for a while, hoping we'd capture the rest of the state. Thanks!

Here's a shot from RT last year:

This is a view up Lower Lafayette's Leap in mid March 2005. This year, I hope to post a bunch more ski photos once the season starts.

Hope to see you all soon.
