Ride Delaware ? Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Look for the First Gear Purchase of the Season thread too!!! Haven't yet gotten my first Snowboarder mag, but I expect it to pop up soon... Just over 2 months until somebody somewhere is open!!! Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Rumor has it Sunday River is gonna blow the mice out of the guns in the next 69 days...I guess I should start saving money for ski season. I'm not quite sure where you came up with 69 days, but seeing as they did it around September 30 last year, I would say that within 69 days they would be closer to opening than blowing out the mice... Kyle Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 the pre season sales emails are starting to be distributed, not to mention the countless teasers that have been released in the past month. Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 I guess I should start saving money for ski season. That can't be tough this year if it follows what you did last year right? 40ish days at Blue, no big trip to the NE, and the normal trip to Jackson? Your budget has to have gone down... Quote
phillycore Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 Ski Budget.... That would be nice.... = ( 1 Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 Just got my first snowboarder in the mail yesterday... I'm so ready for the season to begin... I have to start breaking in my new boots first... Quote
Johnny Style Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 I am partial to the article, "Be Like Water." It is about the underground Killington mogul scene. There is something about skiing in neon outfits and straight skis that Johnny Style can relate to. Quote
toast21602 Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 probably not going to be skiing this year. 1 Quote
poconoceancity Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 Place is rented for the winter. My 6 year old daughter is boarding this year, so she will need a new setup and were ready for season 5 at Eagle Rock. Quote

Have a place at ER too? probably not going to be skiing this year. Shenanigans!!! Quote
poconoceancity Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 Pocono house is rented for the winter? You usually hit CB right? Have a place at ER too? Shenanigans!!! We rent a place near BB, but go to ER, since we have 6,4 & 2 year old daughters. No crowds, great lodge and easy parking make it worth the 40 minute drive. When my girls are a little older we wil sitch to JF and probably buy a place there or in Split Rock. I get over to CB a handful of times a season. Quote
RootDKJ Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 probably not going to be skiing this year. Dibs on the bacons Quote
Schif Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Scoping out some fresh boots already, maybe some 32s, I've heard good things. Can't wait to trade the AC for the fire pit, and start awkwardly putting on all my gear to walk around the house. Quote
guitar73 Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 i think i'm good for most of my big ticket items....although i'm thinking about changing out the liners in my boots. ordered some waxing and tuning stuff. we should start thinking about the PASR drinking nite again .... Quote
Kyle Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 I'm set on the big ticket items this year except for bindings, I could probably stretch another year out of them but I'm on the fence about chancing that or not. Quote
jordan Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 probably not going to be skiing this year. me too, i quit skiing. its dumb 1 Quote

Can't wait to trade the AC for the fire pit, and start awkwardly putting on all my gear to walk around the house. I've heard mixed things on the 32s. A bunch of the instructors I worked with last year said they had used them and said they soften quick and had durability issues. However, they seemed to like the performance while they held up. Most preferred to go back to DC or K2. Quote
burton71 Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 I loved my last pair of 32s. Crazy light, got about 80-90 days out of them. Quote
JFskiDan Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 got an awesome new cardboard box the other day. 1 Quote

Ride Delaware ? Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 Above average for most of the Mid A, and average for the rest of the NE? I'll take it... Only time will tell... 1 Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 Could be another good season down in WV... They get some epic upslope lake effect... Now that Moe has a house though, I feel like we will be seeing less crazy road trips with nights at the Moe-tel :-( Quote
