Ride Delaware ? Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 The people I know complaining about power have newborns. It sucks, yes... But people raised generations of children without power, and people in some areas of the world will continue to do so... I just hope the ones with serious needs made plans ahead of time, ie going somewhere outside the path of the storm, or getting a generator... Quote
Shadows Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 so i went outside today. we lost 5 trees. its a little discerning knowing that the only reason people need power now-a-days is so they can continue their consuming habits. the lehigh mall is fuckin retarded. so are gas stations. pretty much every building that exists today is for buying bullshit. I am highmark gets me everytime Kind of wondering how that moravian effect is working for toast. theres entirely too much traffic. 22 could easily be an 8 wide highway. and coors should be boycotted. "our mountains are real" fuck you. 1 Quote
JFskiDan Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 People on Facebook complaining about no power are babies. Obviously you have never had to live without power for any legnth of time. When you do have to live without power for more than a few hours overnight, you might take that statement back. it sucks. Try it sometime in the middle of the summer in a heat wave. it sucks. It sucks, yes... But people raised generations of children without power, and people in some areas of the world will continue to do so... Yes, but unfortunately we have evolved and created a lifestyle that revolves around electricity. Like, what the hell would you do if you didnt have electricity and all of your battery powered internet devices died? how would you post on PASR? Quote
poconoceancity Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 Just got back from the south end of OC. The beach goes right through all of the houses on the beach block and continues at about 3 feet deep of sand a block from the ocean. Best part is people driving 2WD cars and getting stuck. Quote
poconoceancity Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 Yeah my power was out but a lot of businesses had power so I just went to the bar with power. Last year power was out longer and I had to take a cold shower. The worst part of this storm was that my 3G was spotty. I charged my phone in my car so I could surf the Internet and Internet wasn't so good. This is a time when everybody wants to lend a helping hand. Some on Facebook were offering up chainsaws and showers and what not. I give those people props...looks like a possible nor'easter next week?? I do wonder if my grandparents old house still stands at 2301-03 Wesley... I'll be near there tomorrow and check. Quote
