toast21602 Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Awesome morning up at Blue today. I left my house around 8:20 and was jamming to some Hey Marseilles, Harlem Shakes, and Beta Radio on the way up. MSY. I pulled in around 9:00 with a temperature of 8° and they were hammering the majority of the trails with snow. Booting up in the lot wasn't as cold as I expected because the sun was beating down on me. The only time I really got cold was while going down the hill because of the wind in my face - other than that, it was pretty damn comfortable. they had HUGE mounds of snow on all the trails that they were blowing on. Central Park was loaded so they can get the big air bag open and a few jumps/rails: plenty of snow under the lifts and in the trees from all of the blowing and previous storms - hopefully some fun stuff will show up after tomorrow's 2-3 inches Sidewinder was getting slammed top to bottom and it looks like after grooming the piles out and shaping them, it will be open within the next week. The pile in the back has got to be 20' high. i stopped on the side of Lazy to check it out: Nightmare/Dreamweaver was closed for blowing and grooming today as well: Surprisingly, there was even enough snow to ski the glades since they have been blowing in there as well. I probably took 4 or 5 runs in there since nobody else was and the snow was awesome: I finally called it quits around 11:45 and they were still blowing on everything. It had warmed up quite a bit to a steamy 13° and the sun was still shining. It looks like I'll have one more morning session left on Saturday and racing Monday night before its off to Utah. Anybody else going to be up Saturday morning? JADIP. 5 Quote

Johnny Law Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 The piles are coming along nicely. I'll be there Sat and Sunday morning. Quote
vinnyv11 Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I started into the glades on Saturday and took a huge chunk out of my bases hitting fing rocks lol. Almost bit it hard. Glad they have snow in there now. Quote
AngryHugo Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 The snow looks really good. This cold spell is really drying out all the nastiness. Quote
indiggio Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 May need to do a bunch of after-work runs. Gonna be cold! Quote
toast21602 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Report Posted January 24, 2013 May need to do a bunch of after-work runs. Gonna be cold! sure is! I just got back from a run and its getting a lot more windy out there. With the wind blowing in my face it felt like it was in the single digits but my tracker was reading 14°. Quote
indiggio Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Ya talked me out of it. Took vacation day tomorrow instead. Like skiing in the daylight better anyway. Quote
NazarethSkier Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Very nice. Thanks for posting those pics. Those conditions have me thinking of going skiing on Saturday. Quote
