Terrain Park Skiing, training program available at Shawnee

Shawnee Mountain now has a training program for skiers who are looking to learn park, or get ready to compete. The full program lasts for 10 weeks on Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and started on 1/5/13, however the 5 week program will be starting on 2/9/13. Right now it is only open to teens and children, but adult training is available with sufficient demand. Applicants must be solid skiers and be able to ski all of the trails at Shawnee under control with no wedging. The 12/13 season is starting to wrap up, but things are already being planned for 13/14. A traveling competition team is being formed for next season that will compete at around 10 events. The team has already attended 2 local competitions this season and took a total of 6 podium spots between them.
