sibhusky Posted March 15, 2014 Author Report Posted March 15, 2014 And back to winter yesterday. Got 7 inches in the last 24 hours. 2 Quote
sibhusky Posted March 15, 2014 Author Report Posted March 15, 2014 None. We have good bars. Bierstube, Hellroaring Chalet, have great decks. Patio in front of the base lodge. There's a drinking "route" to town, ending at the Northern. Quote

Mixilplix Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 I'll be in Montana next week.....but sadly not Whitefish...Hopefuly next year... Quote
sibhusky Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 I'd skip next year, under my "alternating year theory". Wonderful year here this year, so clearly won't be as good next year. Currently 129 inch base. More expected tonight. I wish we didn't have this grizzly issue. BUT, that being said, there is no one here this week, so I can see why the grizzlies offer a convenient excuse to close. If the only people on the hill are passholders brown bagging it, how do you pay salaries? Quote
sibhusky Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 Because I've skied five days straight and staggered into the locker room yesterday barely able to walk. Dumped all day, no one there. Siblet had crotch deep and higher conditions in untracked areas like Area 51 and First Creek, I had knee deep in places normal mortals go. Part of me wanted to go, the other part of me said my body needs a recovery day.. Or two. Good sense won. Yesterday was supposed to be a short day and I got back a half hour after the last lift closed. Quote
sibhusky Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 This is my eleventh season...what, are you keeping track for me? Creepy. This is not the best, but probably the second best. On the other hand, I can ski the deep stuff way better now, so maybe it is the best. East Rim Face yesterday: Quote
sibhusky Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Siblet took this today. Her friend launched, did a 360 in the air, but the camera lagged and only took the pic after he'd landed. She had hardly any battery left, so gave up. Boo! Edited March 21, 2014 by sibhusky Quote
sibhusky Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 She said she was in one area between NBC and First Creek that was neck deep. Of course, she's only 5'3". Quote
sibhusky Posted March 22, 2014 Author Report Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Non-professional type video of skiing Thursday (the day I skied). Most of it inbounds from what I recognized. Some might be in Mario World. First Day of Spring: Edited March 22, 2014 by sibhusky Quote
sibhusky Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) I think Doug would fit right in.. Glad I missed this this year.. The six bars produces a horror show by afternoon. Edited March 25, 2014 by sibhusky Quote
sibhusky Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 Thanks, I've been longing for that. Quote

sibhusky Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 When I'm at that other Motana resort I always see some one on a monoski.... We've got maybe three regulars here on them. They're a pain in the lift lines and seem to favor one run. The carving boards are much better represented, leaving trenches on every run it seems. Quote
sibhusky Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 That seems to be one of the reasons no one ever considers coming here. Before they confused us with Big Sky, now it sounds like it's wet. Quote
sibhusky Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 Friend on Monday. Yes, I know she's wearing a fanny flap, Doug. But you always want action shots. 1 Quote
sibhusky Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Posted March 27, 2014 Yesterday it was spring: And then, today it was back to winter, complete with a half hour power outage throughout the whole valley. Quote
