Elk 2012/2013 - What date is 100 days in?

Was wondering when Elk might close. Seems like Sun. 3/24 maybe. But if the 100 day guarantee for seasons passholders hasn't been met they may go a little longer.

So does anybody know the date when 100 days open is complete?

(Greek Peak as of Fri. 3/15 was on day number 86 and Sun. 3/24 would be day number 95)

I got out my calculator. Seeing as how Elk opened on Dec. 18th - as of March 24 Sun. they will have in 97 days.

So if my calculations are correct Elk will have to go to Wed. 3/27/13 to reach 100 days open.

They opened on a Thursday a couple years ago just to hit that number, then closed afterward, but I would imagine that if there is snow and that number is hit midweek, they will stay open at least through that weekend...

I imagine you are right!!! Is Sunday river going to make it until May? I heard Sugarloaf is off the hook right now!!

We are aiming for the 2nd/3rd weekend in April. Sugarloaf is Boyne's late season venture, so they aim for the 1st weekend or so of May.

Heard from a manager last Fri, that 3/27 is their 100th day. They have not made a decision whether they will close then or go two more days until Fri 3/29. If they go until Fri, they will definitely close that day as they have scheduled the employee party for Sat 3/30 and will then shut down the lifts for the season and will not open again.

Today is Thurs. 3/21/13.

On the front page of Elk's website, it states that they are open daily, through Friday March 29th, from 8:30 till 4:30.

Sunday is Easter, only athiests and agnostics will be there cutting their already low turnout by 90%. But really, they should at least stay open through Satruday. If the weather is 50 and brilliant, i'd be pissed. I'm long since done there this year, but why not stay open that one extra day?

Oh yeah that Sunday's Easter. My Grandmother would be pissed if she knew I forgot what day Easter was. But yeah why not stay open at least on that Saturday? I guess giving the passholders 101 days would really suck for them becuase the nearly a grand that they charge for a pass is just chump change.

They have an employee party on Sat. Management runs the lift (1), tends the bar, and cook the pizzas.

It's done this way to use up the open kegs of beer and the balance of the food. Lift is only open in the morning then the party starts in the restaurant around noon.

Just a FYI, on Wed conditions were mid-winter perfect, and they were still blowing snow.

Another of the regulars I talked to said, "Greg (Confer, the manager) told me he's undecided about the closing date, He may just close for the Easter weekend, then open again the following week." Soooo, if they make enough $$$ next week and conditions remain decent, they may extend the season into April. My gut feeling is, don't bet on it.

that would be nice. Even places south of the LV are staying open such as Liberty mountain which is closing on the Easter Sunday. Being up at Blue yesterday and seeing all of the snow that they still have left really kills me knowing that they are going to be closing sunday. I've never seen this much snow and conditions this good this far into the season. Oh well. I know its about money - just like everything else.

There are a few non Christians on the planet too. I'll be taking advantage of the $30 tix that Belleayre and Hunter are offering that day.
