so we're **considering** going to out to snowbasin/powmow at the end of next january...2, maybe 3 days. any suggestions for lodging? we're hoping to not have to get a rental car; is that do-able at snowbasin/powmow?

You can get to Snowbasin and Powder Mountain on a bus from Ogden now. Just started this past season. http://www.standard.net/stories/2012/12/14/uta-ski-bus-begins-serving-ogden-valley-ski-resorts You can take the train direct from the airport to Ogden. I'm sure you could find reasonable ski and stay deal at a hotel in Ogden,

yeah forgot about that. There are just some really nice condos out in the middle of nowhere with awesome views if you get a car. the bus is a great option, though. and there is plenty to do in Ogden and some really good restaurants, bars, and breweries. Staying in Ogden and skiing those areas is fairly reasonable. I've never had a bad time there. Trip reports can confirm.

really nice mansions too. all through central CO in the summer i would clean windows for million dollar houses and shit. huge 40 foot spans of glass and all that. was nuts.

used to just drive around in my friends a6 with a 2 foot tube and find houses in the middle of nowhere with awesome windows and hand out business cards.

gettin money.

You can get some really good deals on condo rentals midweek at Wolf Mountain. Really close to Powder and close to Snowbasin. Do a search on FRBO or VRBO.
