Ride Delaware ? Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 No lights on the cams, but it looks like they took away the Freedom cam, so no definitive answer. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 I stumbled upon this article while scouring the Web for lift ticket deals. This reporter highlights the finest trails in NEPA.. .according to him lol. Â http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/top-lists/top-area-ski-trails/ Quote
sibhusky Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Well, for sheer fatalities, Marjie's might take the win. I would have expected them to say Cliffie, but given the perennial ice of Marjie's and the sheer number of people on it at once, Cliffhanger was easier. There have definitely been deaths on Marjies, but I don't know the number. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 Wow. That's scary about margies. Â It's all subjective of course but in my subjective opinion, there are a shit ton of trails tougher (aka intimidating for newbs) than margies with both razors and challenge being two of them. Obviously there is stuff on east mountain as well but I wouldn't put them in the "trail" category. 1 Quote
sibhusky Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Here's two: Â Â Â Mortally Injured Skier Slid Into Tree Police February 19, 1985|The Morning Call A 14-year-old New Jersey boy who died Sunday from injuries in a Friday skiing accident slid 30 feet into a tree, a ski resort official said yesterday. Robert Evan Stover of Pennington, N.J., near Trenton, died at 1:05 p.m. at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center from head injuries received in the accident on the Marjie's Delight ski trail at Camelback Ski Area in Tannersville. Stover was considered an advanced skier. Curt Kemmerer, the resort's assistant vice president for operations, said Stover made it to the bottom of the 1,200-foot trail, one of several rated "most difficult" in the Pocono resort, and apparently was attempting to turn and head for another trail when he lost control and slid into the tree. Kemmerer said the boy's father, who was skiing with the youth, was in front of his son and did not see the fatal accident. Ski officials do not know exactly what caused the youth to leave the trail, Kemmerer said. His severe injuries prevented officials from interviewing him. The accident is the first reported on that section of the trail this season, Kemmerer said, and is the first fatality in Camelback's history. Â Â Â New York Skier Dies In Camelback Accident February 25, 2002|The Morning Call JACKSON TOWNSHIP A New York City man died in a skiing accident Sunday morning at Camelback Ski Resort in Jackson Township, state police said. Waldo Mark Soto, 31, of Brooklyn, died at the scene, state police at Fern Ridge said. Police said Soto was skiing on Marjie's Delight Slope at 10:45 a.m. when he left the slope and hit a tree and a rock. Marjie's Delight, one of Camelback's original expert trails, opened in 1963 during the first year of the resort's operation. Police said Soto suffered a head injury. Monroe County Coroner Dave Thomas said Soto was skiing with his brother-in-law when the accident happened. He said Soto's death was the first fatality of the year at Camelback. Although Soto was pronounced dead at noon at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, Thomas said Soto died at the ski resort. An autopsy is scheduled today, he said. Â Â Found one for Tut, remember one on Asp. It would be interesting to know the numbers. Quote
