Ride Delaware ? Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 I know none of us will likely be able to take advantage of this, mostly because of distance and late notice, but Bretton Woods has put out some serious snow over the past 5 days and will be open tomorrow to the public for free. From what I have heard, they are offering a pretty legit run serviced by it's own quad lift, for the price of FREE. They will be closing tomorrow at 4 during the impending warmup. Awesome gesture. Their Facebook page has snowmaking pics, and the whales look pretty impressive. Quote
Johnny Law Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 Bretton Woods is one of the few hills on the EC that has experienced legit slides inbounds, I took Avy 1 and 2 with EMS and the instructor was a professor from Middlebury College. Dude said he was up somewhere around Bode's run and he runs into a 100 yard section that slide maybe 200ft, nobody at the hill would believe him until he showed them first hand. Apparently it's happened more than once which is crazy. Would like to ride the Stickney Glades which gets bonus points for being accessible only via tbar. Newbs hate surface lifts but I say more tbars running to the good shit. 1 Quote

I guess its the little things that make every resort different. Just got an update from a buddy who decided to go today to check out the free offering. He said the trail they have open is relatively mellow and wide, so only about half of it to skiers left near the snowguns has skiable coverage, but that where the snow was laying down is pretty deep and lots of fun. Really good quality. He says it is well worth the price. He sent me a pic which I'll try to load later. Quote
