Kyle Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 Bear opening before Jack Frost...... Now that definitely is a situation where shaking my Herman would be appropriate. Couldve been open friday. Surprised frost isn't open yet Quote
toast21602 Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 Opening Tuesday and not open this weekend? Sounds like Bear dropped the ball somewhere..... Quote
Mixilplix Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 Guess I should pick my pass up tomorrow..... Quote
Kyle Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) Guess I should pick my pass up tomorrow.....I haven't bought mine yet...... Â Â But all signs lead to them opening tuesday which is stupid. I'd be surprised if they even sell 50 tickets. It's kind of redicuLois that ski patrol is getting emails saying the 2nd, yet when you call bear they just say "sometime this week" Edited December 1, 2014 by Kyle Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 Excellent news..they opening with 100% like they like? Opening Tuesday and not open this weekend? Sounds like Bear dropped the ball somewhere..... They've done that before in the past. Couldve been open friday. Surprised frost isn't open yet Frost never opens till December. Big boulder is their early and late season player. I don't think there are enough early season skiers and riders for them to open both JF and BB Quote
poconoceancity Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 There's not. JF will be dead Saturday. It really only gets busy there Xmas week, MLK and presidents. Even then u can hit the whole mt from 8-10 and then the east mt from 10-12 before it gets packed with yahoos. Quote
Kyle Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 I was talking about bear creek could have opened this weekend. Quote
burton71 Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 Yeah, I'm kind of surprised they didn't get open at least yesterday. Â I stopped by to grab my pass and they have plenty of snow and aren't going to get a chance to make any more between now and Tuesday. Â Oh well, still pretty sweet for them to open this early. Quote
PASKIINGSUCKS Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 From their snowmaking pics it looks like they could have opened two weeks ago ha. Â I haven't gotten an email yet. Â Temps look bad this week anyway. I'm kind of surprised they didn't go for a super early opening with how much snow they piled up so early. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 How was opening day??? Quote
Kyle Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) How was opening day??? Awesome. Everything was left ungroomed and absolutley no lines or anyone else there. At all. Absolute ghost town Edited December 3, 2014 by Kyle Quote
Kyle Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 That's not good, though... It's not. They could have opened at least a week ago with a few trails. Instead they try to be open 100% the first day. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they didn't open till after the 12th. They've been dragging their feet. Yes the weather this past week has been shitty but they did not take advantage of the snowmaking weather when they had it. I haven't bought my pass yet and after how the past few years have gone, I might just go with the college pass from jfbb for the same price. Only reason I get a pass there is because it's 10 minutes door to door and doesn't take out a huge chunk of my day if I want to ride. Â Â Â Â Â Oh, that and they still have weddings going on right now sooooo...... Quote
toast21602 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 i guess i just don't understand why they insist on opening with 100% terrain and then open on a rainy midweek Tuesday with ungroomed trails and no customers. Quote
poconoceancity Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Are they still open? It's better than montage who just opened their bar today but not the trails. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 It's on my bucket list to go to Bear Creek sometime this season for poutine...cheese fries with gravy. Quote
burton71 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 i guess i just don't understand why they insist on opening with 100% terrain and then open on a rainy midweek Tuesday with ungroomed trails and no customers. They didn't open. Quote
burton71 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Wait what wow How was Blue yesterday? Quote
toast21602 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 They didn't open. For real? Â I guess that's a smart decision. This weather has been shit. Fooled me for sure. Ha! Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 New Years would be optimistic. Quote
toast21602 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 New Years would be optimistic. At this point I hope places that are currently open are still open... Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Same thing Toast...and just a few days ago I was fed up that the six pack hasn't opened yet at Blue...oh well can't control Mother Nature gotta go with the flow. Quote
