zzslope Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Is it possible to be without a car in Rutland Vt. and use The Bus to get to Killington, Pico, and around town semi easily? Quote
Justo8484 Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Also, why Rutland? Get to the access road and pretty much every bar and hotel has a shuttle so you can go get food, beer, and get to the mountain without a car. 1 Quote
Johnny Law Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Your not thinking of taking the Green Mtn Flyer from 30st or something.....that is a poor decision generally....... though you will have lots of time to contemplate alternatives if that is your method of transport to Rutland. Quote
zzslope Posted January 3, 2014 Author Report Posted January 3, 2014 I have been contemplating renting a place and spending the winter there, just wondering if The Bus would be a feasible alternative to a car. Quote
poconoceancity Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 I would be miserable without a car in a ski town. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Lake Placid has a decent shuttle. You could easily get away with parking your car upon arrival and leaving it there if you stay in town. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 This isn't about Lake Placid. Stowe also has a good shuttle as does Aspen and Jackson hole. Wow. Calm down thread police. Bad night of karaoke last night? Collar wasn't popped high enough? 3 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Why the threadjack this is about Killington. Karaoke is Wednesday night. POC made a comment about cars in ski towns. Hence my reply. Re-read the thread. Quote
RootDKJ Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I definitely would want a car anywhere I was. Riding a bus in all your ski gear is the suck.this thread isn't about you, it's about zzslope 2 Quote
zzslope Posted January 8, 2014 Author Report Posted January 8, 2014 During my next trip to Killington I'll have to use the bus for a day or two and see how it goes. I was in lake placid on a bus trip in 2007, we used the shuttle and I thought it was just to whiteface and back. The bus in rutland has stops all around town. Quote
