tarponhead Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Scored a mid-week pass for $25 to Elk. Heard things are still a bit on the thin side. Can anyone comment on how the skiing has been? Trying to decide if I should go within the next week or two or wait a while longer for conditions to improve. TIA Quote
oldtimeskier Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 I was there on January 9th and the conditions were excellent. Lehigh got a little icy at the end of the day which I thought was odd as the remainder of the trails were still in great shape. Have not been up there since. I believe they got about six-eight inches of snow total last weekend. I really enjoy Elk it is my favorite in PA, shame that it is such as far ride. Enjoy. 1 Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 The only natural snow trail at Elk is Lehigh. Elk doesn't have the capacity that other resorts do, but they do blow plenty of snow and usually have a great base. Even when I have gone the last weekend in March they usually have a pretty deep base. I've never had to worry about it being "thin". If it's thin there, it's thin pretty much everywhere. Quote
vinnyv11 Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 I was there Saturday and once the first 5 hours of new snow bliss were over the base was pretty slick. 1 Quote
