GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Guys you are all welcome to ski at Blue Saturday!!! 4 Quote
zzslope Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Unless it was a 5 min drive from my house and I could hit it after work I don't see the point. this Huntah the physical place is fine, it is however filled to the fucking gills with the biggest bunch of assholes ever assembled on planet earth. It's like all of North Jersey goes to Huntah, they all fucking suck, they are all fucking drunk of bud light and none of them can ski while drunk. Add those people into a very vertical hill in which everything is on top of eachother and each run funnels into about three actual runs and the place fucking blows. Platty is owned by a cool dude who does dope shit, their terrain is at least equal and they get 1/10000th the crowd. Laslow actually cares that you spend your money there so why not pay him a visit instead. I'd put Blue Knob in the running for South of VT and there is shit in Western PA that would challenge the best skiers on the planet. The size of your hill does not equate directly to the proficiency of one's skills...a trip to Deer Valley is all the proof anyone needs of that. My experience exactly. Quote
Mixilplix Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Unless it was a 5 min drive from my house and I could hit it after work I don't see the point. This is why I am there...Blue is to far of a drive... Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 I think I would do the off peak pass and then drive the hour or so on the weekends to a bigger place. My brother lived 15 minutes from spring and never went there. I would have hit that up twice a week after work. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 POC I'll give it to you. You're hard to the core for sure. 1 Quote
Kyle Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Bear has enough snow to open, I was up there this morning when I went for a drive. I think they're waiting to open 100% since that's about the only thing they can claim at this point. Quote
patt. Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 Bear's supposed to get a foot of snow wednesday. Quote
Mixilplix Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 Even if they get a foot, I would be shocked if they open on Black Friday.....But who knows,it could happen... Quote

burton71 Posted November 26, 2014 Author Report Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) Called up there yesterday and they said they could possibly open this weekend if the weather cooperates and they get enough snow or can make enough but as of right now they do not think it will be possible. That said, the guy I spoke with said next weekend is what they are shooting for. Edited November 26, 2014 by burton71 Quote

Natural snow does not add to the base nearly as quickly as man made snow, unfortunately. Quote
mbike-ski Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 I heard they have events booked through the weekend and will not open until at least 12/1 under any circumstances Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 With next weeks forecast I don't think they'll open for a few more weeks. Quote

And a few chances to blow in the next week or so. We'll see, anything pre-xmas at BC is a bonus. 1 Quote
