GeorgeCostanza Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Anyone out there have them? This is gonna be my third year using them had a few random ejections last season other than that happy overall. Just looking to see what other people think Quote
Johnny Law Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 I'll pass, the idea is solid but between seeing them in person and testimonials retention isn't there thing.....but I'm an opinionated asshole so.... 3 Quote
GeorgeCostanza Posted November 4, 2014 Author Report Posted November 4, 2014 I'm gonna pick up a new set of skis next month. What are you using? any suggestions? not sure what I'm getting yet but I do know its going to be a wide all mountain ski something for VT and trip out west. Quote
GeorgeCostanza Posted November 4, 2014 Author Report Posted November 4, 2014 Suggestions for Bindings I mean......Mantas defiantly in my top 5 choices they're sweet Gonna see what kind of deal my local shop is doing for skis usually they have a sweet deal on leftovers Quote
guitar73 Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 i'm a fan of look/rossi bindings. I have axial 120's and they work fine for wider boards. 2 Quote
NMSKI Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 I've had look pivot 14s and salomon sth 16 drivers in the recent past and would recommend both. STH 16 was probably way more binding than I need and I'm 200 lbs and fairly aggressive. Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 once your on this site for a bit you'll notice that anytime someone asks a ski gear question, my answer is always "mantras." i dont know what they are, who makes them, etc. but i see the word mentioned on here alot, so i take it and run with itI think all us snowboarders should band together and answer every gear question on skis with "Mantras". 3 Quote
Justo8484 Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Gonna go against what everyone else has said and respond to your question with a question. How old are you? How tall are you? How much do you weigh? How aggressive are you? Asking for a gear recommendation without any knowledge of what kind of skier you are is not going to yield good results. That said, pivot/fks bindings are awesome, I use them on all my skis, but I wouldn't put them on my wife's skis. Elastic travel is second to none, but if you're not skiing terrain where you're going to encounter jarring forces or weird side-loading there's not as much benefit in that elasticity. She uses salomon z10's, which ski great and are light weight, but she's not tricking 50 foot jumps or dropping cliffs. I'd venture to guess that a lot of people buying pivots don't need that burly of a binding. Ultimately, if you can be more specific as to your requirements, there's a wealth of knowledge here and people would be glad to help ya out. Just make sure you bring a 6 pack to share if you end up in the bottom lot at blue this winter 1 Quote
GeorgeCostanza Posted November 5, 2014 Author Report Posted November 5, 2014 25, 6-1", 205lbs. Type 3 skier pretty aggressive. Ill take ski recommendations too even though I'm gonnna be looking for a clearance deal but I can at least get in the ball park looking for a wide all mountain ski something that's nice on groomers but will still perform in trees and pow. Thoughts? Quote

Thoughts? Purely based on height/weight / and type 3. Something stiff and above 185 in length... The rest really all depends on how you like to ski, what kind of ski you like. Quote

Thoughts? What radius do you like ? What do you own now ? What do you like about that ski and what do you not like about that ski ? What are you trying to do with your skiing ? This is the worst question because you generally get answers like buy ski X because well basically I have it. Quote

Well I'm on troublemakers right now perfect for pa and park I like them a lot but I want something for skiing trees in VT and when I go out west for a trip. Again mainly looking for advice on bindingsdynastar slicers with px/axial2 bindings with the worm screw heel. You probably don't NEED the px14/axial2 140, but they have the worm screw heel, and you'd fall in the middle of the DIN range. If they do a 12 DIN with the worm screw heel, that'd work just as well. I prefer the pivots due to a lower stack height and wider AFD more so than the heel, actually. I'll be the first to acknowledge that the px heel skis better, but that's a trade off I make based on my skiing style and years of abusing ski gear. Quote
