rgrwilco Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) Whatever. Would be cool for the state to gain a ski area though. http://triblive.com/neighborhoods/yourligonier/7099503-74/state-approved-project#axzz3It95OjVc Edited November 13, 2014 by rgrwilco Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 That's great news. I've heard it has good terrain for the area. Quote
trackbiker Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 Don't hold your breath on that one. Robert Nutting who owns Seven Springs and Hidden Valley holds the lease to the ski area. He has been dragging his feet to get it open. Why would he want to sink major money into Laurel and then siphon business from his other two resorts? The lodge needs major repairs that he is responsible for. My bet is you will not see this open as long as he holds the lease or at least until he is about to lose it for being nonresponsive to getting it open. 1 Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 They operated it for a couple years, but the infrastructure is supposedly owned by the state and they didn't want to put out for the upgrades. The above article sounded like it was reverting back to state operational control. Quote

The state is putting in the new lift and repairing the snowmaking but Nutting is responsible for the lodge which has since been vandalized. Quote
