GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 Guns are off.. Should be more snowmaking tonight then perhaps round the clock from Monday night through Thursday afternoon. Pocono ocean city I think big boulder will open with more than just freedom next week. With climate change maybe Black Friday will be the new norm. Last winter was cold and this past summer was pretty cool. Black Friday was packed last year cause almost everybody has off work that day. I remember Saturday and Sunday or thanksgiving weekend being slightly less crowded but still busy. Not much lift capacity on the Main Street and Burma chairs and they stop alot. Still better than vista only opening two seasons ago. Also I believe Black Friday was an 830am opening cause its considered a regular weekday so by opening already a few hundred folks there and ready to go. Quote
RootDKJ Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 I'd be happy with just Vista again if it meant opening in November...maybe I'm in the minority though....I'd be down for that. I'd rather be skiing out of the valley however. Â I'm off on Friday. I can't imagine it will be very crowded. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 They said Black Friday this morning on nbc 10 blue will be open. Boom. I'd be down for that. I'd rather be skiing out of the valley however. I'm off on Friday. I can't imagine it will be very crowded. U talking about this Friday or Black Friday? Quote
RootDKJ Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Boom. Â U talking about this Friday or Black Friday? Yes both 1 Quote
toast21602 Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Blew a pipe. Lost a lot of the snow on vista because it washed it away. After 15 hours of snow making I'm not impressed with what they have down, but it was only night one, and it's November 15th. I feel like the same thing happened there last year with a pipe... poconoceancity Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Interesting. I just read that only one percent of house hold incomes earn $240k and above per year. I guess chanting about the .5% would not have sounded as good. 1 Quote
phillycore Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I guess the fact that I don't understand or care how to read the chart is why I'll always be closer to the bottom 5 percent than the top half Quote
guitar73 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 food for thought.... Â http://allenbwest.com/2014/03/deceptive-fallacy-one-percent/ Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Interesting perspective. I like being in the one percent of the population that skis in PA in November. You're in that group also Phillycore. 2 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 They are blowing again and here's a fun fact. More than 1% of skiers are 1%ers. Phillycore is in the 1% of people with a thick ass south Philly accent. 2 Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 I like how they refer to them as snow making cannons in that video. Isn't that what they are.... I do believe they have begun snowmaking efforts earlier than this is the past though or at least the same time. Gotta love seeing Jim Daily back on TV. He has a face for Hollywood. 1 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Isn't that what they are....I've never heard snow guns referred to as "snow making cannons" before but I guess you can call them cannons. In fact, I'd rather they be called cannons because that's much cooler. I'd drop the "making" though and just call them "snow cannons". Sounds baller. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 I have..go to google images and type in snow making cannons Quote
