larrytbull Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Not sure if it is worth it, except for locals but alpine mt website is showing $199 pass for this season on early bird http://www.alpinemountain.com/ Know it is a small place, but for some this might be good, obviously you get what you pay for Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 I think it's a good place if you are near it and have little kids. I would go there with my girls over CB or Shawnee. Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Might check out Alpine with my kids this year as it is part of the Pocono Ski and Ride card I got. Was there once in 88. Anything change since then? Quote
trackbiker Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Might check out Alpine with my kids this year as it is part of the Pocono Ski and Ride card I got. Was there once in 88. Anything change since then? New owners this year have renovated the lodge, added an ice rink, and new rental gear. Opening the bar but not sure if they have their liquor license yet. Nothing hard there but a great place for beginners and kids. Slopes and lodge are uncrowded. Quote
GeorgeCostanza Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Why is there no trail map on the web site??? is there a park??? Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Here's the trail map Georgie!!! Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 That blue run feeding straight into a black (21 to 1) broke the collarbone of a newbie buddy on that 88 trip Quote
poconovfr Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 Man I was over there last week dropping off their new/used ski grinder. Holy shit there's a pile of work left to do. If they're ready by Christmas it'll be short of a miracle. But somehow as with most ski areas they'll pull it off. Quote

poconovfr Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 Have they been blowing?? No. Chairs are still lying in wait of inspection. I saw no guns out around the base. The lodge was no where near complete. It's a project to say the least. Oh and the "new" bridge is the old structure with new side rails. Quote

Ride Delaware ? Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 My connection there still says they are good to go this year with lots of good stuff happening. All he cares about is skiing, so I know it isn't just PR. Who knows... 1 Quote
poconovfr Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 They'll pull it off. Just was a little taken back at what I saw that wasn't happening. Then I sit and realize it's two chairs and you can pretty much see the top from the bottom. lol Quote
trackbiker Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 There is a groupon offer for a $25.00 lift ticket for Alpine Mountain. Anyone over an intermediate would be bored after a few runs but for beginners or kids it's a great place and uncrowded. Ticket is good any time so it might be a good choice to avoid the holiday, MLK, and Pres. Day crowds. http://www.groupon.com/deals/alpine-mountain-ski-snow-tubing-center-1 Quote
