GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Hey all, Looks like fantastic weather for Blue mountain the true mountains earliest opening even. Amazing that they are opening the same day as many of the larger mountains to the north like Stowe, Belleayre and Hunter. Who's gonna go skiing this weekend??? 2 Quote
tnt Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Wow - that's awesome. Trying to figure out work and kid schedule now.... How jammed is opening weekend typically? This is awesome. Really hope I can figure this out and get there. Quote
larrytbull Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 did blue announce it was open this weekend? Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 20, 2014 Author Report Posted November 20, 2014 did blue announce it was open this weekend? Yes on Facebook and via email Wow - that's awesome. Trying to figure out work and kid schedule now.... How jammed is opening weekend typically? This is awesome. Really hope I can figure this out and get there. It will be crowded. Especially with midweek passholders allowed as well. Those first couple runs should be empty and they'll have the Burma lift going as well and alot of the Jibhonks stay on vista chair but still I expect solid 15+ minute waits from 9am on. Still sunny with temperatures in the 20s rising into the 30s by afternoon. Can't beat that for the second last week in November. The definition of bonus skiing.. 1 Quote
larrytbull Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 sweet gonna be a zoo at blue and BB, not sure which i will go to, but shooting for Sunday rather than saturday. Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) BB isn't that bad. Get there for opening. It didn't get crowded last year till 10. The lifts are so slow that their uphill capacity is like 10 people per hour. Edited November 20, 2014 by poconoceancity Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 20, 2014 Author Report Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) No big boulder talk in here. That's like looking at pictures of supermodels and a shot of a lunch lady appears and not a hot lunch lady. Edited November 20, 2014 by GrilledSteezeSandwich Quote
RidgeRacer Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Well this is pretty awesome. I'm all of a sudden less likely to ski freedom park tomorrow night. I'll be there at some point. 1 Quote
AtomicSkier Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 I ditched plans to ski Boulder tomorrow with the news of Blue opening on Saturday. Boner City, USA. Titty sparkles all day. 5 Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) What does "then lot" mean, and how would I find folks Edited November 20, 2014 by Ski2Live Live2Ski Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Best way to look at the terrain they've got planned: it's all the expert terrain at Little Gap (save widowmaker) fired up for opening day in mid November. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 20, 2014 Author Report Posted November 20, 2014 What does "then lot" mean, and how would I find folks Shennanigans. Look for the largest group of extreme type skiers. And November 22nd is not mid November but damn good. 3 Quote
Kyle Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Look for the asshole in the blue, European delivered BMW. Sorry Jeff. 6 Quote

indiggio Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Jibhonks stay on vista chair True jibhonks don't ride lifts, they just pike it back up... Quote
toast21602 Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 With the snowmaking temps that they have until Sunday I would be surprised if they can get lazy mile open. Looks like guns will be able to go from thus even all the way until Saturday morning. I wonder how ambitious they will be... Quote
indiggio Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 I wouldn't be surprised if they have Lazy open for Sunday. They've got to give the uh, less able skiers another way down beyond Midway, which is gonna be its typical spectacle. Trail listing says they blew on Chute? Sounds like they want to try to take some more heat off Midway. 2 Quote
