GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 Nice report. How were the conditions? U mostly ski big boulder park trail??? Any wipeouts? Quote
phillycore Posted December 1, 2014 Author Report Posted December 1, 2014 No wipe outs, conditions were good. Mostly skied Boulder Park trail....upper sitz was really nice but it leads down to the freedom shitshow and the lift over there is just painful without a book to read. Quote
poconoceancity Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 They could win the slowest lift in the pokes award. 1 Quote

phillycore Posted December 1, 2014 Author Report Posted December 1, 2014 Boulder Park lift isn't bad though Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 I remember being about to get 11 runs in an hour on boulder park lift. Quote
burton71 Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 I was up at Boulder on Sat. Conditions were very good and the park setup was excellent and fairly empty early but got pretty crowded up later. Over all a really fun day. Quote
larrytbull Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 My son and I went to BB on sunday. Was much better than being at CB on saturday. we spent most of the time between the Blue runs and the Park, no wait ever at lifts, However park started to get crowded later we stayed till bout 5p very good day there. They mentioned JF was scheduled to be open 12/12 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 12/12 opening for JF seems about normal for them. Hopefully next week is colder so they can have more than a few runs open. Quote
Justo8484 Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 i dont think there is a slower lift in PA than Vista chairyou haven't ridden at frost lately, have you? 1 Quote

larrytbull Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 rather be waiting on lift , then waiting at lift 2 Quote

poconoceancity Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 JF needs to get it together. No excuse for opening the 12th. 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 JF needs to get it together. No excuse for opening the 12th. They wanna keep payroll costs down..when did they open last season? Last year was very cold the week after Thanksgiving. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 It's kind of a disservice to their pass holders who buy a pass solely for JF. but what do I know. Quote

It's kind of a disservice to their pass holders who buy a pass solely for JF. but what do I know. Not really Jack Frost operates mid December to mid march and big boulder November to April. It's been like that as long as I can remember. Anyway I personally think the big boulder trail at big boulder is better than any of the non east mountain terrain at frost. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 It's only been that way since peak took over and made BB a glorified terrain Park. Blue Ridge always opened frost first. Quote
JFskiDan Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 i dont think anyone other than GSS has made the call yet as to when Frost will open. I think they could open this coming weekend. Will they? Probably not, if the forecast for this weekend looks the same later in the week as it does today. As much as i want Frost to open, it doesnt make much sense to open if the forecast for the weekend is rain for 75% of the time they are open. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 I didn't ski JF/BB before I joined PASR with the exception of one time with my uncle in 1994 who was a patroller at Jack Frost...all I remember from that visit was that the runs were short as fuck. I don't think the elevator was open then or tree skiing though. It's only been that way since peak took over and made BB a glorified terrain Park. Blue Ridge always opened frost first. That's interesting!!! Quote
poconoceancity Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 I agree ridge. I hit BB the first couple of days they are open, but by the pass for JF who are the last to open and first to close. Quote

poconoceancity Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 5 min from boulder and all the bars and restaurants, 10 from frost and 20 from blue and CB. Quote
