indiggio Posted February 18, 2015 Author Report Posted February 18, 2015 If Blue didn't groom the crap out of the slopes, the place would be virtually empty. Only the hard-core would be skiing it! How wonderful would that be! Hell, we're lucky they left Nightmare & Dreamweaver alone the last snowfall... 2 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 You sure they didn't groom nightmare to Dreamweaver before it snowed Tuesday morning? The best chance if untracked pow at Blue is when the snow falls in the very early morning hours. After grooming but before opening. Quote
guitar73 Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 if you can't find any rhythm skiing the bumps at blue you're doing something wrong maybe, but I never said that i'm a bump rockstar....far from it, lol. i'm just sayin' that other PA hills are capable of forming and maintaining decent bumps. I really like warm days in spring with a large enough crowd that bumps start forming everywhere by early afternoon, especially lower main st. 2 Quote

mbike-ski Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) the only nepa place that I know that has better bumps than blue is elk. mrs snobunski and I had a looooong discussion on the chair ride as to why they can maintain natural bumps and blue can't - my theory is less freeze thaw/more snow, less traffic - esp. less boarder traffic, and no bail out - so better skiers making lines. best blue bumps ever were natties on swichback the day after the dump last year! Indeed! Those days will be upon us before we know it... those days were few and far between last spring! yo toast u passed me on 378 at sixfitty this morning!
